Multiple sources are claiming that Apple is secretly hard at work on its own cell phone, but the iPod maker has so far made no mention of the device. In contrast, the folks at Redmond are much chattier about their upcoming projects. After the official unveiling of the Zune portable media player and associated music service yesterday, Microsoft's General Manager of Zune Global Marketing Chris Stephenson has revealed to Reuters that a phone is "definitely part of the future of this [Zune] brand." Stephenson also hinted at a possible riposte to Apple's new foray into movie downloads: "We're definitely talking to the studios about video. We recognize that it's an important part of this product going forward," he stated.
