Zune grabs number two spot behind iPod
Microsoft's new Zune portable media player might be doing better than expected. According to NPD Group numbers quoted by SF Gate, the newly-released player is already in second place—albeit a distant second place—behind Apple's iPod line in terms of sales. The numbers say Apple has a 72.5% revenue share in the portable media player market, while the Zune dislodged the SanDisk Sansa at the number two spot with a 13% share. 13% isn't particularly impressive, but it's certainly not bad for a device that's only been out for two weeks.
