DDR3-1375, CL5 memory now shipping from Kingston
Kingston has begun shipping 1375MHz DDR3 "Ultra LowLatency" HyperX memory modules. The modules are available either as lone 1GB sticks or 2GB dual-channel kits, and they're rated for operation at 1375MHz with a CAS latency of five. Kingston already offers similar modules rated for 7-7-7-20 timings, so a CL5 rating is a fairly significant step down from those. That step down does come at a price, though. According to the company's press release, the lone 1GB 1375MHz Ultra LowLatency HyperX module will cost $400, while the 2GB dual-channel kit will cost a whopping $800. For reference, Newegg sells Kingston's 2GB DDR3-1375 CL7 kits for $448.49—in you'll have to pay nearly double just for the lower timings.
