Show notes
Despite Jordan's studio displacement following Hurricane Sandy (and the fact that he's huddled around a space heater in an unheated apartment), we press on for another episode of the TR Podcast. We kick things off with a listener question about Windows 8 phones. Then, Cyril describes his descent into iPhone 5 ownership (Scott has one, too), and we discuss making the move to Windows 8. Our Windows 8 system guide is up next, followed by a follow-up to Geoff's review of the Asus VivoTab RT. We round out the episode with some storage talk, as we examine Intel's 335 Series SSDs and hard-drive pricing one year after the flood.

Listener mail/tweets:
Windows 8 Phone Review? - from Dan - (0:04:08):
"Just wondering if you & the Tech Report team has any plans to review Windows Phone 8 devices. I'm really curious about the new hardware, and interested what your take on it will be. Disclosure - I did receive a Windows Phone 7 phone from a promotion they were running back in March/April. I've rarely been able to keep using the phone as a daily driver, usually switching back to my iPhone. However, I'm back on the Windows device at the moment as my iPhone got dropped too many times. I'm hopeful that some of the fit & finish with the user experience in Windows Phone is improved this time around. Anyway, I think a Tech Report perspective on the HTC 8X and/or Nokia 920 would be interesting. Thanks & keep up the good work with site content & the excellent (in both content & audio quality) podcast!"

| I'm sorry but if there's enough market demand for 13.3" 3200x1800 screens, there's MORE than enough demand for 24" 2560x1600 screens. | +47 |
