Re: Best VPN, Your Opnion

I highly recommend Private Internet Access (PIA): https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/ It's quite cheap, superfast, offers 5 concurrent connections, offers servers in many different countries, and its app is very user friendly. The only con I can think of is that apparently it's actually a little ...

Re: Could this PC simply be 'dead'?

First check the cables: power supply cable plugged into wall outlet and PC? Checked functionality of the wall outlet itself? Then check if everything is still in place inside the computer case: internal power supply cables plugged into the motherboard, power button cable correctly connected to the m...

Re: The mixed build

stuntmonkeynz,

forgive me if I missed something but you mentioned BF4, yet there's no discrete GPU in your list? You're going to want to add one to the list, unless you already own a power graphics card.

Re: recommendations for cloud storage solution?

I second the Crashplan recommendation. I've been using it for 1.5 years and I love it. 2 laptops, one desktop and one company file server completely backup up, with multiple versions of everything and automatic background backup. Once set up, you never have to lift a finger again. Seriously cool, an...

Re: Closed-loop water cooling for Nvidia GTX 670?

Testing update: GPU goes up to 80°C, fan speed stays between 2100 and 2400 RPM (around 50-56%). So far, nothing out of the ordinary. It's just an ugly, whiny fan noise...

Re: Closed-loop water cooling for Nvidia GTX 670?

Hi, I have checked which card I have got - it's this one, with the Nvidia reference design. http://www.gainward.com/main/vgapro.php?id=881&lang=en I have just finished playing a few rounds of BF3 - as I've said the benchmarks do not lie, the GTX 670 runs BF3 very nicely at 2560x1440 - but the wh...

Closed-loop water cooling for Nvidia GTX 670?

Hi everybody, I've got a question, maybe somebody can help: I got an Nvidia GTX 670 from Gainward with a stock cooling soluton (radiatior and single fan) last week, it's a wonderful card, but it's relatively loud while playing Battlefield 3 at 2560x1440. I'm wondering if there is a drop-in, closed-l...

Re: upgrade recommendations

Ante, just saying... save yourself the headache in a few years and get a new PSU. One that's been in service for 4-5 years + an overclock (albeit a modest one) is prone to random failure. You'd do yourself a great injustice to not just shell out a little more cash on a new power supply especially c...

Re: upgrade recommendations

I just came here to gloat  I currently have the very same mobo and CPU (I will always love that trusty Q6600, running at 3GHz for 4.5+ years!) as the OP, but considering that I built the system in 2007, the time has come for an upgrade, so here we go: Asus P9X79 PRO Corsair Vengeance DIMM 16 GB...

Re: Long list of games which you have not completed yet...

Same here, it's insane - hundreds of Euros worth of PC and Xbox 360 games, all legally bought, most of them untouched. But once I get into one online multiplayer game, I can't stop. For years I played Project Reality on BF2, but for the past year I've been hooked on Bad Company 2 - a visually beauti...

Urgent: Going to Brazil - need advice!

Hello everybody, since I know that you guys are a bunch of highly intelligent and well-travelled people, I would like to ask you for travel advice! Re: need a good 24 inch lcd monitor

How come nobody has mentioned the Samsung SyncMaster 245B yet? It's an excellent monitor for the price, and quite recently its successor came out, called SyncMaster 245B Plus. It's cheap, at less than €300, and it offers very good value for the money. I have inspired 3 friends to buy this monitor or...

I have a Braun shaver very similar to the one JJCDAD uses. It's the most comfortable and clean way to shave in my opinion. You basically never cut yourself (I always, always do with Mach3's etc. ), it doesn't hurt, it shaves very, very well, and the cleaning station makes it hygienic. Hell, i...

As a typical 24-year-old Croatian (that's in Southeastern Europe) I have strong facial hair growth, meaning if I really wanted to look clean-shaved I would have to shave every day!

I can grow a full beard in about 8-10 days.

Ergo: you do not want facial hair, my friend.

I bought it for my PC on Saturday and I've only been playing online since.

It's awesome!

It's very different (prettier, more modern, but much smaller in scale) than what I usually play, an excellent BF2 mod called Project Reality, but my oh my it's great fun.

By the way, don't be scared of opening up your mini.

I opened up my little darling mac with a pizza cutter without damaging anything.

Trust me, it's actually much easier than it sounds.

Just follow the guides and the videos circulating the web on how to open up your mini and upgrade it.

Oh. My. God. My OCZ sticks that came back a few days ago from RMA-ing are working now!!! I tested them when they came back and they still didn't work. I was about to auction them off on ebay.
