Re: For movies on disc (yeah), do you ever register your "digital copy?"

Of course. Why wouldn't I? If 30 seconds to put a code in to a website is too much hassle, I can't imagine how inconvenient actually putting a disc into a player is for some people. Movies anywhere puts a copy on every service, ie. iTunes, Amazon, Google. I used to make my own copies, but it's not r...

No, they aren't.

Player Unkown was the main guy behind H1Z1's king of the hill mode, and he created the Battle Royale mods for ARMA.

Take this thread, substitute "Blackberry 10" for "Windows 10" and amazingly almost everything is still factual. Yeeesss. BB10 was so much better than Android or IOS at the time. If they'd have been willing to lose money on the PlayBook at launch and brought the phones out ...

Re: National Drink Beer day?

Awhile back I did a job in the 21st Amendment brewery and they had an IPA called "Blah, Blah, Blah". The can says it all... It was a good IPA and it poked fun it the trend to have something different for the sake of differences, taste be dammed. A couple of years ago I had a Big Eddy Cher...

I would just buy a BT remote for the PS3 and keep using it. If you're really wanting to change, go with a Roku.

Re: Did I get the new Xbox One controller?

As noted, there are actually 3 generations. The original has no headphone jack, so is obvious to distinguish. The two newer models are basically indistinguishable physically. The textured grip is not noticeable unless you feel it immediately after one of the older ones. You'll have to check for Blue...

Re: Xbox One S, and Microsoft Teases Project Scorpio for 2017

I think "Bigger worlds" is just marketing speak and completely meaningless. Really, though, I don't think we should take them at face value when they say "bigger worlds" or "games will still have to be able to run on the One S."

Re: Dashcam for my Car - Buying Advice Needed

I have the Yi dashcam. I'll take it off and put it in the console when my car is parked. The mount it comes with is tiny and unlikely to attract any thieves. On that point, though, I think it's widely assumed that most cars have a GPS or something semi-valuable stashed inside. It's wired. Battery la...

Bulleit Rye here. Never had it before, picked it up on a whim. Very nice. Just a touch tannic/astringent on the finish, but not offensively so, and the rest of the package makes up for it. With a Brickstone APA chaser once I was done sipping, FWIW. Raising a Kentucky Mule made with Bulleit R...

Whew. I'm glad this just makes me want to get rid of old hardware instead of collecting more. I'd hate to move with that collection.

The only nostalgic piece of gear I care about keeping anymore is the Cyrix chip from my first PC.

I enjoyed it enough to spend $25 on the steelbook, but I'm also slightly obsessed with steelbooks.

The only thing that I thought wasn't great was Medivh. I didn't care for how he was played; he didn't have any gravitas for someone so powerful.

Re: Why hasn't the 3.5mm jack/port been shrunk?

At the end of the day the question is simply will the 3.5mm jack exist on cellphones or not. I think it will, but whether it is internally or through an adapter, I don't know. The mobile phone industry will quickly abandon the on device 3.5mm port. The USB Audio Device Class 3.0 specification, whic...

It's unlikely any significant amount of complainers would have left Steam, but it's a smart gesture that shows they listen to their community. I think it's a great idea; mods are always side projects and take years to get to anything usable. Even great mods will ultimately get abandoned by the creat...

We've had our Sonicare brushes for at least three years and haven't had any issues with our holding a charge. We don't even take the charger when we travel because the brush will hold a charge for a couple of weeks of daily use.

We used an Orab-B for a couple of years before upgrading to the Sonicare. A cool thing about them is that it stays on for two minutes unless you turn it off, which helps a lot with consistency. The dental tech that cleaned my teeth at my last checkup was surprised how little plaque I had when I told...
