Re: Need help

You will want either a B550 or 570 mainboard. Your case size will also determine the size of mainboard you can install make sure it is compatible. You may want to use something like PCPartPicker.com to make sure everything is compatible. Your boot drive should be a NVME of 1-2tb and then depending o...

Re: (70368744177664) error on new build

Glad you got it fixed! I always install latest version of windows 10, only install latest drivers, install latest versions of my software if possible. I do this using: 1- windows 10 media creation tool. 2 - Driver booster 3 - Patch My PC These are all free. There are many similar tools out there, bu...

Since AMD is already doing HMA I can see them coming up with something that can compete.
I don't know if higher performance laptops will ever go to SOC but something for the bottom end end with a long battery life might show up with SOC.

Re: Lose internet when upgrading to Build 2004

Use the windows media creator and create an external usb stick.

Reboot, insert stick, go to the drive and run setup.
Sit back and let it go.

Drivers all up to date?

See if there is a mainboard update tool that will update the bios from inside windows. maybe that will work.

All Voltages ok? No over clocking right?

Also in chrome and firefox try resetting the browser.

Double check your DNS settings as well. If they are different from your other machines that can be the cause.

I see this same action with firewall and dns settings.

Re: Which RAM Kit Should I Purchase?

Which CPU and chipset do you have?

Bandwidth is slightly more important than latency. (CpU's have caches after all)

So faster MHZ is the more important consideration than timing.

So consideration should be mhz, cl, voltage, other timings.

Re: So, what do you guys think of the new Radeon 6000 series?

That L3 cache is paying dividends at low resolutions. Higher resolutions are limited by traditional GPU grunt. I wonder if the cards were tuned for 1440p and the cache is not quite big enough for 4k. I bet the next generation of cards will have more cache to handle 4k well and be tuned for that ins...

Personally, I go by whatever CPU-Z tells me.

In your case, just under 1500mhz (x2) to get 3000mhz.
or rather 1499.1 x 2 = 2998.2mhz

You could still say that if gaming is all you do then intel may still be the better buy but only for certain games and only if you need that 1% best performance. The thing that these "rabid intel gamers" loose sight of is that you CAN'T TELL the difference between 100FPS and 110FPS. In fac...

I replaced the door piston on a bedside gun safe. The old piston was less than enthusiastic about opening. The new one works much better. It's about half an inch shorter, so the door opens slightly less. Now I don't have to unlock it then pry it open with a screwdriver. Alexa we need guns! Alexa we...

It's amazing the number of car problems that can be fixed by cleaning the battery terminals In this case I'm pretty sure it was a bad connection to the secondary negative terminal. Re: PC Shuts Off Randomly Then Turns on after a few seconds

I try to keep the power supply about 1/2 to 1/3 larger than what should be the peak load of the machine. You can use PC part picker to give you a general ide what the power use of the machine will be and then add a third to a 1/2 to whatever it comes up with. So if it says your approx power is 500 w...

Re: PC Shuts Off Randomly Then Turns on after a few seconds

PSU would be my guess. But could also be a motherboard issue, I suppose? I would agree with that. The best way to know is to get a slightly larger 650w P/S and see if the machine returns to being stable. Of course making sure your drivers are up to date, reseating the cards and ram, etc. etc. would...

Re: Any issue using a molex switch to turn off HDDs?

You risk hdd corruption unless you shut the machine down, flip the switch, and then boot the machine back up.
If you want to do it while the machine is in operation make sure the port is hot plug enabled!

Otherwise, why not just use an SSD?

Also are your drives REALLY louder than your fans?!

Re: So, what do you guys think of the new Radeon 6000 series?

We'll have to wait and see 3rd party benchmarks before determining whether AMD has actually leap frogged NVidia (their numbers say they have, but we must remember these are their numbers, so are almost certainly the best-case results rather than typical results). Still, even if they're just really ...

After the Ryzen 5000 series this is kinda kewl seeing them being able to match nvidia with 10% or better and that's even with the new high end boards.

This is quite the turn around eh?

I can't wait for the official benchmarks from TR! (oh... wait...)

Not very, again the memory runs at the slowest latency of what is installed if you have mismatched memory. If you have cas 20 and cas 18 ram installed at teh same time all the ram runs at 20. Sometimes you ahve to swap the dims so the slowest is in slot one. The machine is supposed to read all the S...

Re: Laptop Ram Upgrade HP 430 G3

You need the same type and speed of memory for it to work. Does not have to be from the same manufacturer. Actually you don't need the same speed of memory either it will run at whatever is slowest in the machine. So if the speed is 2133mhz for what is already installed then 2400mhz will be compatib...
