Re: Pet peeve - it's pronounced "herb" not "erb"

I used to have debates at work with a couple of the fellas on the correct pronunciation of the word WATER...I am a avid WA-TER with a T and they pronounce it WA-DER with a D. I used to say how does a T turn into a D as my defense. I think it is a Northern US pronunciation. Like the top 2/3rds of PA...

Re: My how time flies

What annoys me is when Bones does anything related to computer technology. Anything. Anything . It's painful to watch them get it so, so wrong. Like terribly wrong. Like a Marmoset hopped up on PCP and Bath Salts would do a better job at portraying computing technology. Even NCIS is better and that...

Re: What is it about american media honchos

Speaking of Breaking Bad specifically, I think the culture and setting are far too integral to properly get remade. You can always do a direct export, like shows we get on BBCA, but I can't see it being successful outside of the American southwest. Well and there's the fact that the entire impetus ...

I saw it, was awesome. Yeah that's kind of the view you get, pretty hard to get cameras up in space to track something moving that fast.

Re: Monitor review sites are all dying off!

All the peripheral sections of the system guides feel pretty stale. I guess that's because I've read them 15 times now. Now would be a good time to do that considering that the operating system page is going to need an update soon. /HINT  Is it? What's gained for a desktop user going from Wind...

Re: Evil plant in my backyard

I have this stuff in my back garden, and it's completely annoying. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddleja It grows at a ridiculous rate, you can cut it down to the ground in the winter, and it's like 10 feet high again the next summer. It also loves to get into brickwork and pull apart walls. I guess...

The thing with "low fat" yoghurts etc that you have to watch out for, is that they might be low in fat, but they will have a large amount of sugar or other calories instead. I love ice cream, but I can't seem to eat like one bowl and put the rest away, I end up eating the whole tub, especi...

I'd honestly prefer more monitor reviews than hard drive or motherboard reviews. No offence Geoff, but I tend to find them a bit dull unless it's a really great or really bad model. They're just not that interesting components to read about.

I think probably Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. It was a VHS rental, and I would have been about 14 or so at the time, but my local video store didn't care about things like that :D
I liked the movie, but the graphic violence really put me off, it was gross more than exciting.

Dead Star by Muse. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhci-MG4DNE (speaker warning :D ) It was released on a double-A side CD as the single for their Hullabaloo live album, but it didn't chart very well as it was between studio albums, and Muse didn't really hit the big time until Absolution came out, a...

I love old timey advertisements, they're so simple and old fashioned. Imagine a world where to advertise something you just printed it's name in big letters and plastered it somewhere!

I think the advertising hoardings of old are much more attractive than modern ones.

A tiny misquote there. The Commonwealth Saga is the one with Pandora's Star and Judas Unchained... the Reality Dysfunction, Alchemist and Naked God is the Nights Dawn Triology. Doesn't really matter who wrote Shakespeare, because it sucks. There, I said it. I feel better now. Totally sums up my feelings in high school. Haven't read any since then, either, and I don't think my life is any worse now - I think it's safe to say these feelings are accurate. Agreed. I always wo...
