Has anyone worked out why the TR results were so far from other sites?

TR: 95% percentile frame times
Everyone else: Average frame rates with no regard for frame times

Actually, Anandtech does have 99th Percentile frame times in their review.

Re: Intel i7-8700 vs 8700k

As much as I'd like to recommend Ryzen to you, I would expect that you're more gaming focused than people are giving you credit for, because the 1070 is not a light gaming card. I don't think Ryzen will be the right choice at the level you're talking about. The R5 1600 makes a lot of sense against ...

I was able to get the machine to boot with a different CPU. What's weird is the first CPU posted a dead 00, and the second the AF, what's the likelihood of getting 2 bad CPUs??? Everything else in the system was consistent I checked this multiple times. Knew something was up the CPU (2 Cpus :o ), g...

Can you get the CPU RMA ? You are not new to system building hence i don't think you have missed anything, it seems its just the CPU that might be bad.

Update - Guys thank you for your suggestions once again. The card is working fine after i underclocked it, infact i had a marathon of 5 hours playing DOTA 2 with no artifacts whatsoever. I also found out that one of 2 fans in the card had failed hence i think the card was unstable. Currently i have ...

Re: Replacement for HD 7970GHZ

You can play DOTA 2 on your Haswell IGP @ 1080p Low-Medium settings. Thanks Pete, i have tried IGP before but i observe occasional stutters while playing ranked games (May be because of 120HZ LED TV ?). Anyway the problem seems to have been taken cared, i had to underclock the card to 925 MHZ GPU @...

I have access to setting like under-volt and under-clock. I will try to under-clock and get back to you, here's hoping that after under-c...

Replacement for HD 7970GHZ

Hi Gerbils, couple of days back my HD 7970 stopped working. After inspection i found that one of the 8 pin connector had loosen up and a quick fix booted the system. But yesterday i started seeing random artifacts while playing Dota 2. Since past 6 months i have been playing this game and I don't th...

Second point, infinity fabric in Vega is responsible for huge die size but it also gives them ability to sc...

Re: Skylake-X Round 2: 7980XE, 18 COARZ

So some new rumors with a semi-credible looking Intel marketing slide to back them up indicate that the relatively well documented Skylake-X lineup going up to 12 cores is just the first wave of the launch. Sometime in the future (probably Q4) the Skylake-X line will expand to include even moar coa...

Re: A solution to Ryzen's gaming inconsistency in the works?

I'm having flashbacks to Bulldozer and how "optimization" was going to fix everything. You are having wrong flashbacks, bulldozer was a dud, Ryzen is not. Ryzen is keeping up with the best of Intel at almost half the price which in my opinion is a hugh success. Also when you consider the ...
