Re: Mystery plant growing in the garden. Help me identify.

First, good job on the garden. It will be fun. Whatever they are, and all those guesses take a bunch of room, you should consider seperating them before they get much bigger. Last year, our zucchini (3 plants) were too close, got 3' around, really interfered with the other plants, and made more zucc...

A8V and X2 3800 Upgrade?

It's one of those rare moments when the wife says, "You might as well do those computer upgraded that you want now..." Since I'm thinking about trading my XP 3200 for some Athlon64 architecture, possibly dual core. The most cost effective path for me is to get a board that A64 and permits me to keep...

Not sure if it's the mobo or not. Do you have know good parts to swap in? Like video and sound cards? I had a remotely similar problem in that my wife's machine would reboot. The ASUS probe that came with the A7N8X Deluxe RevD would show the rails drop off, causing the fans to stop, causing the cpu ...

I had 4 impacted widsom teeth removed at one time. Two were really stubborn and needed to be cut in half for removal. It was an interesting scene. Because I went to the dental school, they could only give me a 10mg valium and novacaine. No gas and no general anesthesia. I don't complain much and the...

In fact, I hardly think about folding anymore, but my 3 boxes still chug away. In fact, why would I not s...

Pardon my ignorance, but

I accidentally ordered a microATX motherboard, but don't know if it will fit in my extra mid-tower case. It seems like it should, and I don't really care what size the board is. Are there any good reasons to refuse delivery and order an ATX sized board?

Edit: yes, it will fold

I have some parts that I may be able to put together, minus the motherboard, but am wondering if what I have will work and if it's worth it to spend the money. This is what I have: Full Tower w/ generic 400W psu (FoxConn?) 2 x AXP (modded w/ pen to read AXP, supports MP) 512M C2 2400 RAM LeadTek GeF...

Did you know that you can suspend or sandwich your drives to cut down on noise? If you want the louder drives, you can suspend them, or, maybe you can suspend your current drives and save some money.

As soon as I get a job, I'll add a few more cpu's. I've already modded two of my XP2400's to go dual, then I can upgrade to XP3200's, and maybe add another box. Right now I'm hurting - I only have two boxes folding.

mstrmold, I'm glad to hear you're re-motivated. Keep it up.

I've bought newegg refurbished mobos with success. You can definitely get a mobo that will support a 333mhz fsb processor for >=$50. That means that your friends can upgrade to a higher rated Barton next year when they and the RAM are cheaper. You can check the cpu support before you pick one. I als...

Durons 1G and above have SSE instructions. They're cheap: $43 for a 1.6G at newegg; $37 for a 1.4G; 34.50 for a 1.3G. However, you are much better off with a 1700+ ($50) or better if your board will support it, due to the larger cache.

Edit: what is the model and maker of your motherboard?

Well, I don't know much about the P4 platforms, except that they excel in mutlimedia benchmarks, probably due to the higher bandwidth of the bus. So that makes sense if multimedia is what you're after. I went with AMD because their products are good, well priced, and I just game and program. If I we...
