Re: How do you make your coffee?

I go to the coffee roasting place down the street, ask what was roasted in the last 2-3 days (or just ask for the roasting log), get 1/2lb of two different kinds of coffee, and get a free coffee of the day (good way to try new stuff). Celebes and Zimbabwe are my favorites right now. I use a French p...

Re: Electric/hybrid cars

Driving around a test track isn't comparable to any kind of normal driving. Remember that they got 4MPG - four - with a Ford GT, which should at least get 8-12 under normal or even hard driving. There's also a 3.5 hour charger for the Tesla. No idea why they didn't have or didn't use it - could be t...

Choice strip or porterhouse, salt and pepper only, medium rare. Local grocery store had aged porterhouses on sale for $5/lb lately, which is nice, since I can't afford it otherwise :). Tenderloin, I'll sear hot and fast and cook below rare... sooooooo good. -Get the salt to melt on the raw steak ins...

There are no good firmware revisions for the D-Link DI-604. Some make the router die with eMule, some make files stay at 99.9%, none are available on the official site (D-Link seriously screwed up on NTP).

There's no Hammertime button for IE. What's the point?

Standard HD formats are either 1280x720 or 1920x1080, both widescreen. Note that unless something has changed on the editing side, you'll need one hell of a computer to edit that kind of footage. I can't even play back WMV-compressed 1080 perfectly on my P4 2.53GHz. Quicktime HD won't play smoothly ...

I dont think you are right there. While BF2 runs and takes its 900+MB chunk of ram, I still have two instances of F@H, and Opera browser open with 15+ windows. You aren't exactly a average user or even close to one. You're right. If he had 400MB worth of spyware and useless background processes run...

Six days, ten minutes. Windows XP is surprisingly stable compared to everything that came before it.

The place I used to work at (ISP) had a couple PortMasters with three-year uptimes. I think they count, considering they keep track.

The main advantage: tiny cables (7-pin, I believe) that can be up to a meter in length. It's also slightly faster, though like everyone else says, there aren't many drives available yet that use it (ok, none that I know of). There are adapters to go from parallel-ATA to serial-ATA, though. So, the m...
