Re: the official Indian food lovers thread!

I do give ethnic foods a chance when I have the opportunity to do so. And so far I haven't been disappointed yet. I was disappointed in Filipino food. I suppose it's possible I just got unlucky, but I've tried it two or three times from different places, and didn't like it. Something about the way ...

I'll throw a hat in for Jira, its nice, and if you want a hosted managed service instead, I've been using ServiceNow for about the last 5 years at various clients, also works quite well, and is also adaptable if you should need it. The problem with as you can read above is that SNOW can be cumbersom...

All of those shots are nice, especially like the 2nd and third portraits! First portrait only lacks a tiny bit of contrast to be great as well.

JBL - sounds quite lovely that one. Personally, I decided to try something I knew needed a bit of time... so popped my Hanssens Artisanaal Oudbeitje Lambic from 2014 that has been standing in my closet. Ahh... Hanssens... definitely an acquired taste. Even though sour beers seem to be the trendy th...

Yes they are expensive. The ROI isn't very good unless you are big or your data is worth a lot. I saw a demo of their cloud email service and thought it looked really slick. The link swap it stuff looked like it works will against phishing. The problems comes when you start implementation and actua...

Re: That WannaCry ransomware

Fireeye is good stuff, but as pretty much best of breed, they are very expensive. They have also started loosing out to others when it comes to cloud integrations when people are starting to move off-premises like office 365 and having external email, etc.

There are various issues as well, Chrome, since it update 58, just blocks certain types of certificates that it only warned for before, so many appliance self signed certificates are now actually impossible to use chrome to get to at all without installing a proper certificate on them. Re: Naval Fans: World of Warships is now Open Beta

I would've said give it up to T5 to decide, but currently, I would almost say T7, since T5 has a bit of a poor matchmaking at times. Also, if you just start out, take an invite from somebody in the same region, if you hit T6 you'll get a free T5 premium battleship and ton of free xp.

Is anyone still playing World of Warships? Yeah, up to 11 x T10 ships so far.... T9 on new RU DD's, and 75% to T9 on the DE DD's and T4 and T8 on the US and IJN CV's respectively. And if you play on EU you might see me sporting a little flag with an owl on it these days ;-) I play WoWS a bit and, f...

To be honest, as soon as I could do silvers, I've been starting to do like 4 silver runs, then go for generally 2 bronze, 2 silver and 1 gold pack. Having that guaranteed rare is awesome. Getting the right rare for you class instantly bumps you up to silver. I mean, I only have total of 7 hours in M...

I just run standard windows defender in windows 10, then use EMET on top of that together with our (I work for mnemonic) free secure dns service . As for Mantle... well, lets see how many will support Vulkan in another year, because that was basically the whole point of Mantle being created in the first place and then handed over. "It's dead Jim." Seriously look at the Lists and This . if its dead, its dead, but even if all it did w...

It's a shame there really isn't a good way to discuss these issues without some people going into tinfoil and fanboy territory, on both sides... because there has definitely been issues with this in the past, and I something new would crop up, I wouldn't be the least surprised. According to some of the comments, and also what seems to be other tech journalist, Intel does sent email with certain incentives regarding publishing or buying Ryzen, if that is true, its terrible, but until it gets to the point that it gets into court I'll be happy to call it fud. Now, if people a...

I brought my character through both ME1, 2 and 3 from start to finish with pretty much completionist runs, as far as you considering going either paragaon / renegade can be completionist to get an optimal run through story wise. I did cheat a bit in what I needed, because basically I did it to exper...

Re: Should we be afraid of Intels's Managament Engine?

On some laptops, namely my new Lenovo OLED Yoga X1, there are bios options for permanently and irrevocably disabling certain features that might be considered intrusive. IIRC, IME was one of those. I have yet to look  into the mechanism for disabling those, but I assume it some sort of fuse that wil...

Any system can be hardened if you know how to do it, but the issue should really be what mechanism are there by default if somebody doesn't do any hardening. What CPU are you running. These days most CPU's does thermal throttling, but before that came, the thermal protection shut it off. Don't remember if it just stopped with the fans still spinning or if it shut of the computer. Load a program that checks the CPU-temps as well, Core Temp or CPU-Z. After...

Glorious, I recently troubleshooted an issue like that. It was before the Anniversary Update, though. What fixed it for me was scouring through every connected USB device and making sure that other than the keyboard and mouse, none could wake the PC. Heck, disable them for testing if need be.  I ev...

I am very new to the concept of SFP, so sorry if I've been mixing up terms or asking stupid questions. Heck, I've never even seen an SFP DAC or optical transceiver in real life before. Nah, really can't ask stupid question if you don't already have the knowledge to know they are stupid, and if you ...
