Re: Snipping Tool & Print Screen

Look in the color profile settings for you monitor. It sounds like you have a set color profile where one program displays it with, and one without. If you cut and paste and don't convert the color space properly, it can get more and more casted as well, depending.

Re: Oldie but goody - Sandy Bridge OC

I was always happy with my i7-2600k running at 4.2@ stock voltage. IT lasted for 6,5 years before I got a new computer, which was may last yar. So.... actually, it came up to 7 years. It surived through 3 graphics card, memory upgrade and a SSD and secondary drive upgrade. Little trouble with games ...

I still picked out all the parts I wanted and stuff, just that I let them put it together and get rid of all the packing materials. So in the end, i picked up 2 boxes, one with the computer and all left over tech cables and such in a custom box they deliver such in. Then a new monitor.

I do still build my own PCs, but whereas a lot of the fun used to be in the tinkering and tweaking, now I generally just want something rock-solid stable that's reasonably affordable and performant. I guess another way to I got a new PC last year, after my old 2600k actually stopped keeping up well...

Just remember, folks, that this was among the most civilized places on the 'net back then which is why I and many of you chose to stay here. Yet the above is what the most civilized place looked like. Scary, huh? :P Or maybe we're all just getting old... We are getting older, old is a state of mind...

IIRC, TFT central also reviews colorimeters, as does dpreview.com so take a look there whats currently in good sta...

I have a similar issue, and for me I think it depends on the fact my primary monitor first presents as a normal monitor then switches to freesync mode that is a different device, so kind of weird.

Re: gigabit ethernet throughput

Any decently integrated NIC on the chipset should be able to get full speed. I usually get around 113-120MB/s (900-960mbps) worth, which pegs my NIC's at >90-96% Utilization during one way transfers. Also note that depending on what drives you have, if not an SSD 120MB/s is a fair bit of data that u...

Yes they are expensive. The ROI isn't very good unless you are big or your data is worth a lot. I saw a demo of their cloud email service and thought it looked really slick. Fireeye is good stuff, but as pretty much best of breed, they are very expensive. They have also started loosing out to others when it comes to cloud integrations when people are starting to move off-premises like office 365 and having external email, etc.

I would've said give it up to T5 to decide, but currently, I would almost say T7, since T5 has a bit of a poor matchmaking at times. Also, if you just start out, take an invite from somebody in the same region, if you hit T6 you'll get a free T5 premium battleship and ton of free xp.
