O Rly?

Apologies in advance for the uninformative thread title, and this might even be in the wrong forum too, but... I didn't know that TR had been going for all that long, or that the Windows forum had so little activity. http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/1871/1969ko4.th.png O Rly? :D

It's called the GREENHOUSE EFFECT. Ultra-violet light from the Sun passes through the glass. That light hits things inside the room, and is absorbed. Those objects are waaaaay colder than the Sun, so when they re-emit energy they do so at longer wavelengths - they emit in the infra-red spectrum. Inf...

All machines need a human aspect to work them. Everything that is currently running on my computer is because I told it to run. That required key presses and mouse clicks which are the equivalent of levers, wheels and handles. And that argument turns my abacus into a computer. What's more, it allow...

Did it operate on the data without intervention on the part of the user? I think the 17th century user would have had to turn a handle, or pull on a lever, to make the calculation be performed. That makes it an adding machine, which could only cope with six digits.

Schickard's invention ? The machine could add and subtract six-digit numbers, and indicated an overflow of this capacity by ringing a bell; That's an adding machine, not a computer. A standard Japanese abacus is capable of far more. Edit: here is mine. :D http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/6439/soro...

I disagree. By all means use another program, such as Irfanview, but ALSO complain to Microsoft. Enough complaints might make them rethink.
