Re: TES V: Skyrim

You have to kill 'innocent' people (like a shop keeper, guards, random townsfolk) before the dark brotherhood will contact you, same way it was in oblivion. There is also a quest where a little boy asks you to kill the mean lady who runs the orphanage. After I killed her was when the DB came to see...

Re: What's the last good movie you saw?

There are just some bad movies that people really like. You have to be wired that way. You can't really say that Evil Dead or Evil Dead 2 or Army of Darkness are good movies, objectively. But damn if they aren't just AWESOME! This. I knew going in that I wasn't going to see an Oscar winner. Yes, I ...

Re: Recommendations for a sci-fi novel

I'll come out of left field here and suggest the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. Not true sci-fi, but really a mix of sci-fi, fantasy, and western. The first four books were fantastic. And Gunslinger is still, today, one of my favorite fiction books of all time. Enough so inspire a tattoo! But t...

Re: Post your jokes here!

Two elderly friends are out on the golf course. Joe takes his time, lines up his shot, and drives the ball really well, landing on the green. Bob gets up to the tee, put his ball down, lines up and is about to swing when, on the road adjacent the golf course, a hearse drives by. Bob stops what he's ...

lair.... that was FANTASTIC. I loved that one. Did you write that yourself? Mind you it took me all day to read in short snippets at work, but man oh man did I enjoy it. I liked it just as much for the story as for the punch line. Fantastic! If you got more like that, keep em coming.

Dead Island. I loved the game until I got to a point pretty far into the game, I'm pretty sure right near the end, where you have to keep some tribesman alive, and take out a butcher, a thug, and a crap ton of regular walkers. Doesn't seem so bad, right? except it auto saves right as you walk into t...

Sold! I'm obtaining this ASAP! Awesome. They're by no means literary masterpieces, but they are fun, exciting page turners with great story and interesting characters. The first time I read Electric Church I'm pretty sure I read it from cover to cover in one sitting. And no ones ever heard of them!...

I just recently started listening to Classical. This is the collection that got me started: Masters of Classical Music. Vivaldi and Chopin have been the most listened to so far. Great stuff though.

Little late to the party, but I'll suggest The Electric Church , Jeff Somers. First book in the Avery Cates saga, takes place in unspecified future after "Unification" of the world, eliminating individual countries and the formation of a world government and police force. It's a sci fi, co...

That's one of my favorite pictures. The originally posted one is actually X-Ray. The different version Steel has is visible light. And if you look at the top left of the rings, you see one dot that stands out. That's earth. Edit: Also, this is an eclipse, if you can't tell, with the sun behind Satur...

This was actually my exact same complaint the first time I loaded up Mass Effect 1 when it first came out. I brought it back to blockbuster that same evening. Re: The BEST Simpsons line ever...whats your memorable momen

My favorite has to be the Film Festival episode. Don't cry for me, I'm already dead. That one has so many good lines. Jay: You must be the man who didn't know if he had a pimple or a boil. Homer: It was a gummy bear. Jay: How do you sleep at night? McBain: On top of a pile of money, with many beaut...

Lenovo X200 Tablet power issue

Hello, I've got a strange problem with a Lenovo X200 tablet. We had to downgrade the OS using Lenovo recovery CD's as XP is my companies standard OS and some of our applications do not run on Vista/7. I know this is not ideal, but it's required. Anyway, a while back the user started telling me the l...

Lenovo 3000 K100 - Windows folder fills C: drive

Hello, I've got a Lenovo 3000 K100, it's got a 500GB Sata drive, and it is partitioned into a 30GB partition for the system, and the rest for storage. This is the way it came from the factory. However, now it's come up that the C: drive is filled to capacity. I ran TreeSize on it, and it seems that ...
