Re: Graphics Card after windows 10 upgrade

I had the same issue with a HD7770 but it also occurred with Windows 7. After much digging on the interweb, I found a forum where people seemed to think it was linked to the wireless card. Which I happened to be running a card with the same wifi chip they were accusing. I installed some updated driv...

Re: Do you really need G-sync/Free sync?

Gsync is better in fringe cases and in some specific classes of size/refresh due to the hardware. Otherwise, it's more expensive, more power, etc. It will lose long term as it doesn't offer enough added benefit. I agree it's too expensive right now, but I'm not sure it will "lose" long te...

Re: Return to PC Gaming

I would prefer a smaller board I think. I'm hesitant because I didn't want to be short expansion slots. As of now I run a wifi card and sound card. I could ditch the wifi card. I was planning on getting a capture card for gaming but I can just go with an external one I suppose.

Re: Return to PC Gaming

I think I might have DDR3L but I'll double check. The prices are so close that I would probably be better off going with Skylake and DDR4 for "future proofing." Regardless the smart move would be to wait until things settle down so I suppose I shall do that. Any recommendations for a well ...

Return to PC Gaming

Hello Gerbils, it's been a while since I've been active on the forums although I still read the content. I'm making a return to computer gaming and I need some objective guidance on what to do about my PC. Current Setup is as follow: FX-6100 GA-990FXA-UD3 2x8GB DDR3 HD 7700 Evo 840 250GB Corsair 580...

How do you guys feel about used prosumer models like the 30D? Or the nikon and pentax equivalent? I'm not a fan of the higher level Sonys. None have the dual control dials besides the discontinued A700?

/revive. Just wanted to give you guys an update since you took the time to give me your input. A couple months ago my girlfriend and I purchased a Sony Alpha A390 on sale. We've been happy with it so far. It's very easy to use and the tilt-able screen is really appreciated since my lovely girlfriend...

Re: Dragon's Age II (demo)

Hmm maybe it locked me to medium since I only have a DX10 card. Seems like a fair amount of people had issues with the high quality settings. It's only the demo so whatever. I just played for the in-game items anyways :)

Re: Dragon's Age II (demo)

My system is brand new, so perhaps the performance problems of choppiness and what not are due to too high of a quality setting? I ran it all maxed and I didn't experience any choppiness whatsoever. I did experience some pathing issues after I wrote my initial post. The demo was locked at the "...

Did you also have a quick pause during conversations and cut scenes when a different person spoke? The constant loading annoyed me. And I'm not a fan of the combat yet. All in all I'm skeptical but still not disappointed that I have it pre-ordered. I have faith in Bioware.

For now I suppose we'll use the TLS while familiarizing ourselves with photography. That being said ...

Getting Into The 35mm Film Thing

Hey guys, I'm looking for some help finding a good site/community to learn about SLR's and the whole 35mm film thing... We found a bag full of these chips in my grandfather's apartment. He worked for Martin Marietta as well as GE doing something with radar and other related equipment. Just curious as to what they were and why he would have so many of them.

Do you think de-glossing the Razer with a scour pad would be successful? I don't think I could live with that gloss finish with how I treat my keyboards.

I was thinking about a new SandyBridge but adding a graphics card at a later date. I can build a system with the H67 chipset and say 6 months later add in a dedicated graphics card? Yes. Keep in mind the trade off seems to be losing any potential overclocking ability even with the K processors by g...

Yep, it was dropped. I don't think its a complete write off though. Granted I'm no expert but it does start up reliable and will go into the bios without fuss. I have a 30GB SSD that I may try to use to boot into Windows.

Re: The Fermi cards are pure fail :(

I don't know about pure fail. They are more or less on par with ATI from a performance perspective. From what I've read it seems they will stay relevant well into the future compared to traditional video cards lifespans, if someone were to spend the extra money for one that is. Personally I wouldn't...
