Re: Dell Hates AMD?

Looks like Dell has seen the light and have made some Ryzen machines, namely an 8-core 27-inch AIO: http://www.anandtech.com/show/11455/dell-launches-inspiron-27-7775-aio-ryzen-7-rx-580 and an "inspiron" desktop: https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/dell-computex-inspiron-amd-ryzen/ Hav...

Re: Looks like RyZen got caught cheating on benchmarks

Kinda feels like AMD ran over his dog or something... Chuck's issue is not with AMD, it's with Intel. His love for Intel is so great that he goes to great lengths to sing it's virtues and disparage their competitors. I suspect that he has a connection of some sort to Intel (financial or otherwise),...

LOL classic Chucker, AMD optimize their CPU and he/she screams "cheating", typical, if Intel did that he/she'd would be waxing lyrical about how much effort they put into their chips.

Re: MS MAKES FULL WIN32 SUPPORT ON ARM/MOBILE

My first thought was that this might be related to Qualcoms new 48-core server processor: http://hothardware.com/news/qualcomm-samples-10nm-48-core-centriq-2400-arm-server-chip But no, from the posted video, and that fact that it's 32-bit x86 only means that it's clearly not for server tasks (though...

Re: ES ZEN CPU at 2.80 GHz Beats 3.40 GHz Core i5-4670K

[quote="LocalCitizen"]AotS supports 16 cpu threads: http://forums.ashesofthesingularity.com/476825/page/1/#3630793 so a 8 core 16 threads zen cpu is fully utilized. even if Zen is released at 20% faster at 3.5/3.8Ghz, it is only as fast as i7 6700. that is when using all cores/thread are u...

Re: Intel Pentium G4400 Processor Review – Budget Skylake

While that kind of setup will work quite well, we need balance and systems are lasting longer before being replaced. So it makes more sense to get a higher end CPU now and then buy the $300 video card later. Problem is, CPUs will typically last through 2-3 GPUs. So sometime down the road, you'll re...

Re: Intel Pentium G4400 Processor Review – Budget Skylake

I have to mention however that pairing a ~$300 video card with a ~$70 CPU does seem to be silly. Is it though? I'd love to see a comparison between a $300 GPU + $70 CPU and the combo of a $200 GPU + $170 CPU. I would probably come down to the individual game, but I have a hunch the more expensive G...

Interesting... A couple of minor comments before I get to the main ones: * I assume you're inheriting a monitor from somewhere else... * Do you really need a full ATX motherboard? micro-ATX boards are usually $10 cheaper and will still have enough slots to keep most people happy * Why the DDR3-1600,...

Re: The break from flash & java

AIR is just rebranded flash, which should beyond obvious given how the two share the exact same vulnerabilities Air is not a re-branded Flash. It's a way to wrap pre-written Flash code into an executable. Thus it does not share the "same vulnerabilities" as Flash. The main problem with Fl...

Re: Your motherboard that had the most CPU upgrades

I've had a few motherboards that have gone through 1 upgrade, but my most upgraded motherboard was an AM2 Gigabyte GA-M57SLI.

I took that mother from a 1.8Ghz Athlon 64 to a 2.2Ghz Athlon 64 x2 and finally to a 2.6Ghz quad core Phenom II.

Re: Fanless HTPC

First a few points: The i3-3220 does not have built-in HD400, rather it has HD2500 instead: http://ark.intel.com/products/65693/Intel-Core-i3-3220-Processor-%283M-Cache-3_30-GHz%29 I know you said the box is not for gaming, but that GPU won't even give you that option! Also, I'm not sure why you're ...
