Re: The Last Great Plasma!

I have a question - I have a 42" ST50 plasma, love it to bits! Thing is, there is a green line down one side of the screen. I believe this is a panel issue, and I'm not going to get a replacement panel from anywhere. Any quick fix to this? It is generally not an issue when viewing content as it...

Re: Getting Into The 35mm Film Thing

As a long time Pentax user, I can say the only lenses missing are the long (>300mm) primes for wildlife shooting.
They have all your other bases covered, if you are an APS-C user.
No FF yet, but with the Ricoh takeover, who knows?

The 880G cannot do multi-channel LPCM over HDMI. Better to get an nVidia chipset for that.

Re: My parent HTPC setup

Bit of overkill for a basic HTPC, don't you think?
The 4670 especially.. you should have gotten a 9300/9400 chipset board, whose IGP would have been just fine for HD movies and other video-related activities.

20" P-MVA on my Viewsonic vx2025wm, the last good one they made before transitioning to crappy TN-only monitors.
Just ordered a new Dell 2209WA e-IPS panel monitor. Good reviews so far.

Not too many issues, just ensure your entire path is HDCP-compatible. Otherwise, AnyDVD HD will do the trick.

In India Q6600 is costing Rs 24,500 = $ 612.50 :( Good grief.... :-? Why do you guys overseas pay so much for hardware? 8800GTX costs Rs 45000 = $ 1125 :( All the hardware costs are pretty high here .. Not really.. the 8800GTX is ~32K, = 800$ in Mumbai. Does eating cheese count?

Nah, I work out 2-3 times a week, 30 mins running, then alternate between shoulders, biceps, triceps and lower body exercises.

October 2004 - 91 kilos, 40" waist.

November 2006 - 74 kilos, 33" waist.
I'm 5'10" tall.

Yeah, it helped.

I would suggest a different DVD burner, unless you really need it to be SATA. Lite-On 165H6S, Pioneer 111.. much better than that Samsung.

7900GT, 7950GT, 7900GTO, 7900GTX.
Problem : 7900GT is the cheapest of the lot, and SLI only works with the same 2 cards anyway. Get another 7900GT.. SLI with a 7950GT, GTO or GTX will not work with your card.

Simple. You touch VCore when Vmem changes do nothing for your OC.
Also, run Orthos or 3DMark in a loop, together, to check for stability issues.

I paid 6000 rupees for 2GB RAM back in August, which is about 125$ US, and 110 euros. Good RAM, allows me to hit 235-240 1:1, 3/3/3/8, 1T. @flip-mode : my line of thinking exactl...

s939 upgrade - worth it?

My Asus A8N-E was flaking out on me, but the 3000+ was chugging along fine. Got a good deal on a DFI SLI-DR Expert and A64 X2 4200+, with 2GB Micron RAM. Worked out cheaper than a C2D setup, as DDR2 is still very expensive. Sprung for a nice Viewsonic vx2025wm LCD, and now I have an MSI 7900GTO inco...
