Hmm, I can't pull any of the binaries from your Dropbox. I don't know Dropbox well so maybe I'm just ignorant and don't know how. Not on linux box right now so can't pull the source and compile. :/ edit: Yep, I just didn't know Dropbox well. Got them now. W10 x64 i7-6700K + 16GB DDR4 3000 CL15 WS/th...

Nah, I get it. It is cool.

On the other hand, there wasn't much in FO4 that was consistent with Boston and its surrounding areas. I found it disappointing. (I lived there for 4-5 years)

I just finished watching Season 3 of The Expanse, and I'm so glad Amazon picked it up. Can't wait to see where things go in Season 4. I knew I didn't hate you for a reason! [/s] But yeah, The Expanse owns so hard. It's a really good time for space epics with The Expanse and the new Trek. Both have ...

I think that's the "old" WD Black, but it's still "fine." Here are a couple more options to consider. Any one would be fine. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820250098 (this is the new WD Black that is faster by quite a bit, though depends on your usage ofc)...

Even at lower resolutions (most of these tests are 1080p) the difference between an old Haswell chip and a 5.1GHz Kaby lake is insignificant: https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/2773-intel-i5-2500k-revisit-benchmark-for-2017/page-3 I'm not sure i'd say insignificant , but most of the sentiment in th...

Bleh. This is one of, if not the hottest years I can remember in the Midwest. We've been above 90 (and closer to 100) most days since early May. Usually we don't hit that until sometime later in June. Oh well.

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

At our house growing up, we had ~8 acres (all grassed) and mowing was a real deal. Especially in the spring when you pretty much have to mow once a week unless you want things to get out of control (tall fescue in KS grows like crazy in the spring). We regularly mowed about 3 acres of it and the oth...

Luckily companies are (barely) starting to do something about this. Google just built spam blocking/filtering into Android this past year thank goodness. I barely get any calls that actually come through now. It's awesome. That addresses your question I think. It's solvable but will take a little bi...

Re: Active Noise Cancelling headsets

You already mentioned the QC35's which are pretty great at what they do, but also take a peek at the Sony MDR-1000X. I don't think you'll regret spending that much on either set in the long run. I'd have a really hard time justifying paying that much myself. Especially for something with an integra...

Re: Active Noise Cancelling headsets

That's definitely a lot easier to prescribe something for. Etymotic makes some decent earbuds and has some good passive isolation because of the tips they use. Might look into them. Though obviously you can just buy some Comply foam tips or whatever for the headphones you currently have. Like these:...

Re: Active Noise Cancelling headsets

IME the cheaper ones have lousy fidelity, lousy noise cancellation, or (generally) both. This is true from everything I have heard and read. I would very much consider expanding your budget if you can. Maybe try and snag last year's model or a used set if you can. You already mentioned the QC35's w...
