Motherboard RMA (or try another CPU if you have one, but I figured that was unlikely).

Re: Apple WWDC keynote

Not trying to derail the thread, but I have tried my best to fit a tablet into my life and I just can't. It just doesn't appeal to me at all. Between a Macbook Pro, Pixel XL, and my Windows 10 PC, I just can't find a reason to actually use one. FWIW, I'm not saying that they aren't useful in certain...

Re: PCIe 4.0 ALMOST Ready

At this point I'm not sure if PCIe v4 could be useful during the foreseeable future. Although I supposed enough time has passed to update the standard... It'd be incredibly useful for Thunderbolt 3. TB3 currently mandates up to 4 x PCI-E 3.0 lanes per port. Keeping the 4 lanes but increasing their ...

Re: PCIe 4.0 ALMOST Ready

It's not just about bandwidth for single GPUs whm. Although it's not wrong that PCIe 3.0 x16 is plenty of bandwidth for cardss today, GPUs are FAR from the only thing that uses PCIe on a motherboard. Think bigger, man.

What are you asking whm? If DDR5 would be useful?

Of course it will be. Higher speeds with less power. Gimme dat bandwidth.

price/performance curve AAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH There is more to life than the price/performance curve. I'm typing this out on a 2015 MacBook and I know that it would epically fail your price/performance measurement yet it is my pride and joy. I'm going to give it a hug in a moment. Why am I not sur...

I have never seen a 1-2 hour turnaround time for an app review, though. Very rarely are they reviewed in less than 48 hours. Phil is outright contradicting my experience. :-/ The updates I always submitted took at least 36-48 hours as well. 1-2 hours is not real. First submission usually took 5 bus...

It's not just the press. Go read the comments on virtually any AMD or Intel article here. In fairness to the readers, they kinda get sucked into the narratives in the press. In fairness to you and your point, readers are generally kinda stupid. Agreed on all counts. I don't just mean TR either, but...

Re: AMD Raven Ridge APU Size Estimate

The tech press has been calling all of these launches "responses" when in fact they've been in various stages of life for way too long for them to be a response to anything. How does Intel respond to Ryzen? With stuff they've been working on for 24 months or more. How does AMD respond to ...

I don't think 15Mbps is fast enough (says Netflix) for whatever 4k they push. As such, it might just upscale 1080p for you.

Try ctrl+shift+alt+D to check out the stats of what they're serving you.

I just don't see how Intel can keep pricing the X/E series stuff as high as they used to anymore. Hoping there are at least small price cuts with the new series of stuff. I really want a 7820X.

I didn't even know they had made a movie out of Cell. Stephen King adaptations have been pretty hit-or-miss. I'm hoping the upcoming Dark Tower movies don't fall into the same trap. It will. Yeah, I doubt you'll see 4K BR support for at least another few years. Xbone Scorpio does/will support 4K UHD only with the upcoming console so at least there's that. Any possibility you'd want to migrate to MS?

I have been using CPU-Z/CPUID since my Socket A days 15 years ago and I wasn't even aware there was a benchmark. I thought it was just an overclock validation and test-bench stress tool. So, I bother looking at the bench tab and see there is in fact a benchmark in there now. How long has that been ...

Come on chuck. This one is a bit too thin to call it "caught cheating." I'm just applying the same standards to AMD that regularly get applied to AMD's competitors around here. If AMD is back to being some type of top-dog in the CPU/GPU world then they'll have to deal with the fallout of ...

I get it man, I do. I suspect, since these cards are just trickling out, you'll have to wait a while if you want a round-up. A few of the criteria you are looking for though can definitely be taken care of just checking the specs (ports/size). While you obviously can't tell default fan curve without...
