Re: Recommend Slim Keyboard

I use a logitech k740 at work. It's definitely slim and not bad. It looks like you might be able to find used ones for $40 http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/351446910054?ul_noapp=true&chn=ps&lpid=82.

Re: Just ordered a Geforce 970.

I just recently got one of those cards. The noise isn't bad. The majority of the time it's pretty quiet and under heavy load its noticeable. I overclocked it like 5% once and it immediately went from noticeable but not really annoying to pretty loud. So its a loud card that's tuned to be pretty quie...

Thanks for the advice everyone! I'm going to wait until Friday when the cpu is actually available to click buy. As for the RAM honestly I'll probably find something ~DDR4-2800 that's from a reasonable brand has a reasonable price and most importantly a heat spreader I like (Is it really so wrong to ...

Re: Skylake build

It's really hard to tell how big cases are. The fractal define mini did seem larger than necessary but it's hard to sort and find smaller cases. The node 4 you mentioned only takes mini-ITX though if I could fit everything in there that would be pretty nice. Thanks for the heatsink tip. Nothing woul...

Skylake build

Finally going to build a new computer. I'll be keeping my ssd and two hdds from my current computer as well as mouse, keyboard, and 27" questionable 1440p korean monitor. I wanted to post my planned build here to see if anyone had any opinions about my component choices. I decided to go micro-a...

I don't know. It looks like a pretty huuuuge improvement to me, says the guy with his 8+ year old E6420. I think I'm looking at a roughly 400% improvement?

Yeah I'm a little overdue for an upgrade.

Re: Mice with "free scroll" scroll wheel.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I didn't notice anyone had replied. Disappointing to hear that no one else really makes mice like that. As someone commented it's the lack of friction that I like. I'll probably find one I really like eventually. For now I'll just stick to be being begrudgingly satis...

Mice with "free scroll" scroll wheel.

I've been looking around for a new mouse for work and although I'm not sure what exactly I want I do know that I've fallen in love with my Logitech mouse's "hyper scroll" wheel. For those unfamiliar the mouse wheel doesn't click and gives very little resistance making scrolling quickly ver...

Can anyone post their experience with mircast? Does it work pretty seamlessly from windows? Is the performance (image quality) good? Re: What's this type of cable fastener called?

I wonder if the power button on the monitor is flaky and essentially randomly triggering. Do you use the power button? Try just lightly tapping the monitor near the power button and see if it triggers the problem. If you've never touched it I wouldn't be suspicious of it but if you are regular power...

Thanks for all the replies! It looks like I am going to have to contact the collections agency at some point. I didn't even realize it at first because it seemed ridiculous but the charge is not for my "current" comcast account but rather for one I held from 2007-2009. I'm assuming this be...

Hi Everyone! Just asking for a bit of advice to perhaps save me some time and effort. This situation seems somewhat apropo considering the recent web freakout about Comcast. Re: Free New Graphics Card courtesy of EVGA

So it turns out they're sending me a super clocked GTX 460 1024 mb. Looking up some reviews it would appear to be about 4 time faster than the old card. Should help me continue to pretend my computer can handle my 1440p korean monitor. Overall pretty excited... Maybe it will quell the upgrade itch.

Have you tried draining the battery (or removing it entirely for a bit) to force the tablet into the "off" state instead of the restart state which may let you boot into safe mode?

Re: Windows Live Mesh Replacement

Glad to see I'm not the only one disappointed to see it go. I'm uncertain that even if you can install it whether it will continue to function. It has a pretty significant tie-in to Microsoft's web services so I'm not sure it will work without their support (which they say they are dropping). I like...

I got this to work in Chrome. It wasn't obvious but in the address bar on the right side was a little icon that if clicked asks if you want to display insecure content. If you allow insecure content then the page magically starts working!

Good luck btw. I'll be voting! :D

Thanks for the replies guys. Carpet beetles seem to make sense which it turns out is okay. Hi Everyone! I've seen a number of bug ID posts before and I'm always impressed with everyone's knowledge of bugs.
