Re: Something's different... (new)

I'm not saying the previous design didn't need some modernizing, but this just went too far. I hope the coming tweaks are a step in the right direction. It needed a LOT of modernizing.. starting with the hole "Tech Report" title taking-up as much room as it did. The new design is better i...

Might change poll title to most expensive GPU. Hopefully the most recent was the most powerful  I adjusted for time (..sort of like inflation). Geforce 2 Ultra.. Spent stupid money at that time not because I wanted high frame rates, but rather I needed something that would provide DVI-out at ...

Re: Need Advice On An Overdue System Upgrade.

I tend to screw myself by buying parts fully intending to build now, then getting busy and not building the system for months. So by the time I actually do the build, I could've gotten the same parts for less, or better parts for the same price. You'd think I would've learned by now. Case in point:...

I've also had pretty much nothing but problems with plumbers.. even those licensed (which are rare in my area). Unless it's a problem buried in a concrete-slab foundation (or under a crawl-space, which I don't have), I'll do it myself. Now electrical is something else.. messing with the circuit-brea...

As an old fart who's played many different versions on D&D, 2.5ed was extremely fiddly with the rules, and high level characters were definitely gods.. 3rd (and 3.5) edition was mainstream for so long, and was extremely complicated and not really designed for mass market.. (great for nerds/geek...

Actually not sure on the sentencing guidelines now that I look it up. Ok, so some of us "old farts" have been waiting for this game for about 18 years now (after ToB was released) - though most of us had long thought it would never occur because of a question of just who held the legal rights to this game (..where even most lawyers representing interested pa...

I find it hard to believe that combo speaker systems for PC, and from non-speaker companies (Logitech), can somehow end up both offering better quality and being cheaper. IF the Co. cherry-picks the fullrange driver and does a decent design with the enclosure + a powered upper-bass "sub" ...

I only game at 4K and it's definitely in the "competitive" bracket versus the 2080 there. It certainly gets a pretty great boost from *water-cooling as well as using less power under water. Also, would a typical purchaser want a VII for use with much less than 4k? Of course the other use-...
