Re: Diablo III

From time to time, I do dig out my copies of Diablo 1 and 2 LoD, but I also find it hard to seriously get back into either game. But I would definitely give D2 a whirl if you've never played before. I elected to also not participate in Season play in Diablo 3, to be honest I did not want to start a ...

Re: Sniper Elite 3 anyone

I finally lifted my embargo on Steam and was able to get Sniper Elite v2 at no charge a few weeks ago when they were offering it for free for a 24-hour period. It is also fun to play on the PC. For me the killcam never gets old! I also picked up Nazi Zombie Army 1 and 2 during the Steam Summer Sale ...

Re: What are you playing right now?

Been getting back into playing Dishonored on the Xbox 360. I played it last year but just had a hankering to drag it out again. Great fun. I'm getting better at stealth but things can still sometimes turn into a bloodbath. :D Also been playing some Reaper of Souls and Soldier of Fortune Payback on t...

I liked Far Cry 2 quite a bit, and while I didn't care as much for Far Cry 3, I have to say that Far Cry 4 is still on my radar.

Re: Sniper Elite 3 anyone

That video was awesome, thank you! This game is definitely on my "must have" list. I remember playing the original Sniper Elite back around six years ago on the PC and was impressed with it and the bullet camera if you took a good shot. I played it again recently, and while it has not stoo...

Re: Diablo III

Console version got a release date of 8/19. If it had released with the PC version I might have gotten it for PS4. But the 5 month delay ensures that no, definitely sticking with PC. The demo for D3 on PS3 was fun with the controller, arguably easier to control in some respects. I am glad to see th...

Re: Diablo III

Big patch day for D3. Go to Diablofans.com to see the datamined patch notes. Ahh, so this probably explains why I am getting slow download speeds at the moment. I did a reset to original factory settings on my other laptop yesterday after doing a lot of mucking around with compatibility testing, et...

Re: ET has been found!!!

This has to be one of the coolest stories that I have heard so far this year. I also heard a few years ago that Atari 2600 cartridges (especially E.T.) were buried at an undisclosed location or locations back in the 1980's. I never actually doubted the story but it's good to have this confirmation t...

Re: Ants!!!

I remember there was a problem with pharoah ants throughout my old condo building. It seemed like a "phantom" problem, they would show up, then disappear for a while, then show up again. In reality, they were probably always there but not always noticed. Anyway, it was a nightmare, they wo...

Re: What are you playing right now?

I've just started playing the original Far Cry. Never played it when the game came out so I figured I would give it a try. I honestly have no idea how people can play that on Realistic mode (the hardest) because even on Easy there are some sections where I die over and over again. It would be okay ...

Re: Diablo III

Great game, I finally finished Act 5 earlier this week with my Witch Doctor and immediately dove into Adventure Mode. It's a blast! Now I am up to Paragon 21 and have gotten a few upgrades to my armor via the Horadric Caches. For what it's worth, I thought Act 5 was decent and wonder what might be i...

Re: Windows 8 (8.1) phones... who has one? love it or hate i

Three weeks ago, I purchased my first ever cell phone, a Nokia Lumia 520 and I think it is excellent. I really only want a mobile phone for genuine emergencies and to maybe send out the odd text message but some of the other features of the phone such as the calendar, OneNote and such are proving to...

Re: Diablo III

Funny thing, I moved the difficulty from Hard to Expert with my witch doctor (now level 69 as I type this) and I'm finding that Act 5 is giving me a pretty good challenge whereas I was able to blow through Act 4. I'd say Expert difficulty for my character right now in Act 5 is just right. Anyone hav...

I wouldn't consider myself a hardcore Diablo player (or gamer in general), but I have been playing the games since 1997 and consider it to be one of my all-time favorite franchises. Once in a while, I will even dig out the original Diablo and Hellfire expansion pack for kicks. I remember being so ad...

Talk about unnecessary, too. I could understand the always online nature when they were trying to make the AH (and RMAH) a thing, but now the only reason to require any connectivity is saving characters and connecting abilities among said characters...and none of that should require an always onlin...

I just bought a new laptop computer this week and can finally run D3 properly YAY! I have to say also that I am impressed with the new loot system. Ahh yes, I remember when Doom was first released...I had just upgraded from a 386SX-16 to a 486SX-33 and it ran pretty good on the new rig. As good as Wolfenstein 3D was/is, I was surprised to see how much more evolved Doom was in such a short time frame. I was underwhelmed somewhat when Doom 3 came...

I grew up on pinball right from the time my Dad took me into an arcade for the first time back in 1977! Back then pinball still ruled the roost in the arcades and I am particularly fond of tables ranging from the mid-1970's up until about 1983. To me it is a special treat any time the opportunity pr...

I played GTA III back in the day and found the open world concept to be cool and fresh, but ultimately the gameplay didn't pull me in for any length of time and I found several of the missions difficult to the point of total frustration. I haven't really bothered with the series since. That said, I ...

I'm glad to hear that the AH and RMAH are going bye-bye in the next several months. Earlier this year I was feeling a little nostalgic, so I dug through an old box of PC games knowing that the original Far Cry was in there. Re: Far Cry 4 has been confirmed!

I have to be honest that I loved Far Cry 2 but was not crazy about Far Cry 3. I haven't even felt compelled to finish it. This has certainly put a damper on any real enthusiam that I might otherwise have had for a 4th game in the series.

Re: Mechanical Hard Drives Today Are Garbage?

Since using PC's starting in 1991, I've only had two hard drives fail on me. The first time was a Quantum 700MB drive back in 1998 and my most recent failure was just a month ago when my 2TB WD Elements external hard drive bit the biscuit rather suddenly. I even tried taking the drive out of the enc...
