Re: My payment still being pulled!

You can easily stop these charges by calling your cards company and asking them to revoke the recurring charge permission of any single company.

Re: Xbox series X

I'm not angry at all. Just amused. In an "I wonder how much money they paid some high-priced industrial design consultant to come up with this?" sort of way. I can definitely imagine the 4 hour meeting where some guy uses every corporate talk jargon to explain why this simple design is th...

Watch your credit statement and then call the card to have the charge denied. None of the subscription links actually produce results. Yeah, if I don't get any answers on my emails, that is probably what I have to do. My bank has an option for blocking ALL online transactions, that is an option I g...

Probably not, they change numbers frequently. Often times they use burner phones with time cards for the initial calls, then switch to ip phones later.

I get your thinking but it doesn't work to well. When you answer or call back they'll sell your number to other scammers and you'll just end up in every new list available. They also use weird tactics like conferencing prank callers together so they yell at each other. Their are a few professional s...

Well the good news of the site continuing on a downward angle, if anyone wants to put the notion of buying the site into the new owners ear this is probably a good time to start.

I'm curious if some of the guys claiming to have better plans will put their money where their mouth is.

I've used the DC-DC converter that SecretSquirrel linked a few times and can vouch for its usefulness. You can also reduce the filter cap sizing when using it, since the converter is capable of eating some input ripple. This here is your visual shopping list, other than a couple cord grommets not p...

I didn't realize there were quite that many bands. Is 5g going to be so fragmented as well? I realize that will only matter to dense population area folks for the time being anyway.

Also you would be competing with companies who already use the modern video format and have an established community. It's a tough sell at best. Still better than competing in a segment which attracts close to zero ad revenue. Oh I agree, but either way I think the site was done when it fell to far...

My 2 cents on the general speculation although it serves no useful purpose, I feel like typing I guess. I used to hang out on a different forum. The owner of that site found some surprise success. The niche target didn't have many options and the good design of the site was welcoming. At some point ...

You spend a lot of time posting about stuff like this here, and you're doing it for free... what if you spent that time actually doing the analysis instead of engaging in random speculation? It would be hard work and utterly pointless if it isn't fruitful in the end. I post here in the hope that ma...

Re: Food for thought: The number 8

That's what I am trying to determine. What's the pattern for 8 impacting things? It is completely, utterly random. If you look hard enough you will find just as many cases where 8 leads to good things, and other numbers lead to bad things. OK then you or someone else here should start compiling a l...

Add TN, and diagonal viewing angles. I honestly don't understand the fuss over TN panels. They aren't that bad. I simply tilt the screen till it looks better. I use IPS on my main laptop but I noticed that my Thinkpad with TN panel isn't half as bad. In fact, I was taken aback when I tried viewing ...

They don't necessarily participate in every decision made, and even if they do my point still stands. It's not hard to come up with many reasons why companies do this sorts of things. The same reason music labels used to force radio stations to take songs they didn't want in order to get access to t...

Imdb is closing its forums for some unclear reason: http://www.imdb.com/board/announcement It's a useful site, and a veteran one at that, but a lot of their design and management decisions are puzzling. The extreme guys take to buying medium chain triglyceride and using it directly. I keep a backup bottle of vegetable oil but it's rarely used. Oh and if you actually take up ...
