Re: Places to buy replacement LCD panels?

I replace about 10 laptop screens a week, most of the replacements come from http://www.screencountry.com/ I don't do the ordering or anything, but since I've been doing this I've only ever had maybe 3-4 not come in in good condition. I don't know the return policy, since I don't do that either, but...

Will Threadripper play nice with Server 2012 R2?

I've been tasked with building a sort of make shift server based off of a Ryzen Threadripper 1950X on a GIGABYTE X399 AORUS Gaming 7. I didn't have much say in the parts used, but I've been told this system will be running Server 2012 R2. Now, I know that Ryzen boards don't really play nice with Win...

Yes, yes. The data stuff aside though. I mean purely in terms of the ability of the software to detect infections / incoming threats.

It's getting increasingly difficult to trust ANY security software providers at this point.

Kaspersky Free

So I came across this: LINK I was wondering if anyone has looked into this new free version of Kaspersky? How does it compare? I'd like to see a site like AVcomparatives look into how it does...The paid version of Kaspersky seems to have pretty good detection rates, with low false positives. I wonde...

Re: It's worked like that for years...

I believe I've already told the story about the co-worker who insisted that her PC occasionally "ate" floppy disks. As in, she put them in, and they simply disappeared without a trace. Somehow, she had just accepted this as normal -- "yeah, it does that sometimes, I just go and get a...

It's worked like that for years...

I just got back from an on site service call. I feel compelled to voice a frustration I have with a phrase I hear WAY too often. I get a shudder when I hear ' It's worked like that for years '. Many times when I hear that it comes after something completely impossible. In this case, I was on site to...

Yeah, the 560 looks like it's just gonna be a RX 460 with the work of unlocking done for you. With that being said, I was hoping it would be priced a bit more agressively below current cards. Hoping $90USD, or like $130CAD. Hopefully the Vega release is more interesting. Saw this today: LINK That wo...

Probably not very interesting for most folks here, but the budget RX 560 card is showing up on newegg now.

It's on the american newegg as well.

Just an interesting note for some entry level 1080P gaming.

Those Roccat offerings look interesting. I think the shape is one that I trend towards as well. May have to see about finding a way to hold one and decide if it feels right.

Thanks for the multiple options!

So I need to buy a new mouse. The button on my current mouse is worn out an not picking up clicks reliably. I've gone through fixing the buttons a couple times now, and I'm tired of doing that. It was actually pretty simple. 4 pentalobe screws on the back ( the ones on the front are just for show ) Then you just use plastic pry tools to separate the casing. Remove 2 screws by the ribbon cable, then remove the ribbon cable connecting the face to the board. Then you just release the metal co...

Gretzky was 28 when he had the number of points Jagr has now. He's still almost 1000 points ahead of Jagr for #2. It's amazing what Jagr has done in his career.
