Re: Gigabyte 780G HDMI output

The only thing that fixes it is unplugging the cable or restarting the computer. I can't reproduce the error reliably though, I'm still not entirely sure what causes it. It seems to only happen when I switch inputs on the TV before the computer goes to sleep, if I just turn off the TV without changi...

Re: Gigabyte 780G HDMI output

Thanks!

That fixed the video problem. I'm still having a problem with the audio though - it works ok until I turn the TV off. If I turn the TV back on again, I get video, but I have to unplug the HDMI cable to get audio

Any ideas?

Gigabyte 780G HDMI output

Hey all I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes: I recently built a new HTPC using: Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ LG GGC-H20L BLU-RAY HD-DVD Reader OCZ Gold XTC PC2-6400 4GB 500GB 7200.11 HD Installed Vista SP1 ok (with AHCI - no voodoo required), but I'm having proble...

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 245bW

Hmm...that's exactly what I need, but unfortunately I have to get the monitor from Futureshop (since the majority of the cost will be covered by futureshop gift certificates) On a side note, does anyone know why all the LCD screens at futureshop are not displayed using their native resolution? It su...

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 245bW

Yeah, so now I have some problems. I did some more research into the component to vga adaptor and it seems that they don't tend to work very well and are pretty expensive. Plus, I'd much rather have a monitor that did 1:1 pixel mapping/could keep the aspect ratio intact when scaling an image, so thi...

Samsung Syncmaster 245bW

Hello everyone I have a couple of questions about LCD monitors. I recently got a couple of gift certificates for futureshop and I was looking at getting this monitor, since it's fairly large and cheap. I know it's colour reproduction and viewing angle isn't as good as more expensive options, but I w...

From what I've seen close to double... I did the math for Jav from SereneScreen and his new QX6800, it ended up being like 2k PPD for windows and 4k for Linux... Even my E6600 can hit 2K in VMware... It's well worth it... I don't think it's quite double - I used the VMware solution for awhile on my...

"Registering" objects in Java

Hi everyone I'm trying to figure out how to register objects in java (at least, I think this is a registering problem). My current project involves a FileParser class which can read text files which contain objects. The objects are well defined in the txt file, so the fileParser reads in the object,...

I played the demo for awhile earlier, and I'm going to play through the rest of it tonight... So far I love it! I've always liked the C&C games. I wasn't as big a fan of the tiberium series, but I think that was because I got into the games later. I really like the clean interface and sweet grap...

My 6600 is at stock right now....I did have it overclocked a little but my temps were a bit high, I'm waiting to get a better cooler. It produces most of my output - I have a bunch of other computers folding away but I get around 1.5k a day just from the smp client (and to think the smp client only ...

I've added a couple more computers : 2 1.6 Ghz P4's and an ahtlon 64 3800+, so maybe I'll make it to the top again!

I checked-out out the sticky, and it does look like it wasn't using optimizaitons (SSE boost ok! was missing in the log), so I added -forceasm.

2500+ faster than 6600?

Hey everyone! so, I'm still quite new to this folding thing (see my other post), but my old athlon xp 2500+ (overclocked slightly) is kicking my brand new 6600's butt. They're working on the same protein (well, they were until the 2500+ got a NaN error at 95%) - p3038_supervillin-03 (actually, all 4...

It's not so much a matter of "faster" in Linux, it's a matter of a totally different type of client, one specefically designed for dual (or quad) processors. In your case, with an E6600, assuming you have 1gig+ of RAM, tossing VMWare on and installing Linux would allow you to get a lot, lot more po...

Joining team 2630

Hey everyone

I've been reading TR for awhile and I just setup F@H on my computers - one c2d 6600, athlon xp 2500+, and an athlon xp 2000+. I might be able to add a couple of computers later....
