Re: 4K displayport cables ?

Wow, that is a relief, guess all thoses 2560x1600 res cables just have not had their descriptions updated. Thanks a lot for the 2 links! Off to buy a cable. They say it is one exception, RBR reduced bitrate cables that only goes to 1080p. Is that for cables of 16ft 5m or longer? I need a 6m cable f...

Re: Help me choose a subwoofer!

All this neighbor angst. I have a 15" sub and play movies in the weekend at -24dba on my receiver reference (-24 to what they play at cinemas I think) and have never had a single complaint. But I play lower when I play games (well, except games with good audio and bass like Crysis 2 and BF3) an...

Re: System Shock 2 comes to GOG.com

Oohh I played this game a few years back with a friend of mine, great fun. I was running around like a scare chicken because I chose to be a psionic and didn't really have any good offence except the ice ball attack. We also had a lot of problems with crashing. We had to assign the process to one CP...

Re: LGA 1155 socket delicate

Thank you all for your input. The PSU was to be excluded in this situation. I had connected an external one into the 4pin / 24pin sockets. Same results... No POST happened. And when I mentioned how fragile the pins are, I noticed after the fact that there were several bent pins on the socket itself...

Re: Video card for 2560x1440

You will be happy, I think. HIgh or Ultra is fluid for everything except Crysis 2, and that's because Crysis 2 is a terrible, badly-written, boring and inefficient excuse-for-a-game . Crysis 2 has a bad case of over-tessellation probably bought by Nvidia, but it is a very fun game. The audio is als...

Re: XCOM Enemy Unknown

I've played the demo.I was really hopping to be good. The demo was 6 gb for 20-30 min of gameplay, but was very poor ,in some cases was like 1 frame per second.Even the mouse was moving very slow ,sometime a had the impression of crash was imminent . Even prerender cut scene had problems. I've played...

Steam UI responsiveness

Hi!
I find Steam UI not very responsive. I compared to Origin, and I wonder if there are anyone else with the same issue?

Here is a video of this issue:

Re: Valve's Gabe Newell Talks Linux Steam Client, Source Eng

I'm surprised Valve hasn't done this sooner. Steam can easily and cost effectively reach the linux users out there. It is the same with GOG, on a world basis there are a large market for old games. There should be a relative large market for linux gamers. I still prefer Windows, but this may crumble...

Power Supply Squeal survey

Hi! I am after a new PSU since the two Mist 650W (rev 4.0 and 3.5) squeal when I have high FPS in games or certain loads on the GPU. A survey would show which PSUs are the safest to bet on. Please post Motherboard CPU Graphics Card PSU and which components you can hear squeal under load. Load like A...
