Re: Metro: Last Light

I feel it's a very narrow brush: There most certainly is a contingent of incredibly vocal hyper-sensitive rose-colored-glasses PC gamers with a religious zeal for pushing their bigoted message, and their primary tactic is to drown out any disagreement with noise, noise, noise. And since they're so n...

Re: Metro: Last Light

I've never seen a game start off so atrociously geared to a 6 year old console player. Bwahahahahahahahahaha! The PC Acolytes once again demonstrate their masterful reasoning processes. "This game designed for PC by PC game designers for the PC on the PC only the PC has consolitis !" How?...

Re: Best PC FPS Games of the last 5 Years (Suggestions)

If you're preferring a more crafted experience, you'll be disappointing, but if you like having more freedom and creating your own experience it's incredible. Nah, I don't agree at all. Spending an hour running from one site to another looking for a rocket launcher because the game decided "no...

Currently playing Metro 2033 and it's amazing. Stalker SoC and CoP are amazing with the Complete mods, though Clear Sky is meh. Crysis is meh, has some fun moments but I'd be surprised if you don't wind up asking yourself "that was it?"

I'm like Forge: Mighta given it a try, but I don't have Arma2. Maybe if the mod gets some more development I may look into it.

Yeah, just the one, and he was still tiny. Pretty sure I got no lyme disease, but I'll be looking out for a rash for the next few weeks. I'm just amazed that with all my tromping through the wilderness this is the first time a tick's actually gotten his "fangs" in my skin.

Re: Who would you bring?

Zombies are analogous to the inexorable march of old age, coming for us all. I think that's only a part of it. With zombies there's also the element of recognizing that other people can be a threat to you, that danger can unexpectedly come from within your ranks; this conflicts with the natural hum...

Somehow I've managed to go up 'til now without finding any ticks sucking my precious life juice. Similarly, I've also managed to go up 'til now without feeling any desire to jab myself with a smoldering incense stick. Two firsts in one day!

Re: Who would you bring?

Sorry, but I just don't see much need for tech journalists in the post-zombie apocolyptic world. They generally have poor eyesight and atrophied muscles, which makes them a liability.

Question: What do you do if you and your friend are being chased by zombies?
Answer: Trip your friend.

Re: Who would you bring?

This is something I like to make clear to all my friends and loved ones: If, during a zombie apocalypse, I don't know where you are or how you're doing, I'm assuming you're dead and hope you'd do the same.

Re: Diablo III

Yeah, people that expect a Diablo game to be about "the first and only playthrough" really aren't getting it... and with, like, a decade and a half of history for the series (with D2 staying strong for at least ten years) that's kinda surprising.

Even on game forums people complain about the failure rates with many on #2 or 3. Maybe they exaggerate a skosh, hmmmm? Gamers Complain. It seems the tech report community is blessed by either not playing theirs enough to burn them up or simply being gifted with lucky picks. Or maybe, with a handfu...

I don't think its so much the graphics itself, I feel like the future of the look in games is going to be all about the motion.

Best comment of the thread.

I've always wonder why more games didn't incorporate some form of level randomization. It made me forgive a lot of faults even back with the first game.

There is absolutely no reason for me to change it around because a system designer couldn't cool their system properly. Meanwhile, your kid's being mocked at school after he tells all his friends "I have a 360 but daddy won't let me use it". Anticipate a second mortgage to pay for therapy...

You guys are getting wrong what I'm trying to say. Earlier, it seemed like you were suggesting that there's something amiss with Diablo III's main menu, and now there's questions as to how significant an observation that is. EDIT: That's how Diablo 3 makes me feel. Darken&Sharpen filter "h...

My point is, diablo never had best graphics. But it always had an atmosphere that made the player feel whats going on and give the dark, hopeless feeling of a world that went terribly wrong and evil. It also consistently did so with plenty of flash, color, and spectacle; it was never Doom 3. Diablo...

The only way to lose weight, and reduce the chance of heart disease, is through your sweat. Or time. Took me years and years to lose it, but eventually I dropped from my high of 285 at age 18 to about 180 now that I'm 30. All it took was this: Reduce food intake by 25-35%, and replace almost all so...

The value buyer usually skips 1 or 2 generations for his/her upgrade. 'Tis what I was going to say. It astounds me to see people talking about owning Gen X processor and lamenting how Gen X+1 isn't so great in comparison... forgetting that there are still people out there running on Gen X-2 or -3. ...
