What would you say i should try for memory speed wise? It's currently 950.

And what speed are you using for state 6 and 7

VEGA 64 Temps, Boost Clock, and Wattage

Ok so from my previous which to buy thread(which got kinda way off topic so starting this new one) I bought an Asus Rog Strix Vega 64 OC. So the advertised boost clock on the card is 1590Mhz. Which if I don't screw with Wattman the card never gets close to. In games if I use the cards built in setti...

Re: Am I bottlenecked?

I decided to do some more searching online about bottlenecks. And the results seem confusing but pretty much finding the same information everywhere. And that being my CPU is going to cause a bottleneck. How much will vary on resolution and such. But likely about 5% up to 25% in some games. The high...

1) if what you say is true then it should be easy enough to demonstrate across a WIDE RANGE of games and not just DX12 - i.e., show me the link 2) even if it is true - big deal. Vega 64 needs 100W more than a 2+ year old GTX 1080 and it's just now, finally beating it? let me know when AMD has somet...

Am I bottlenecked?

Ok so i have upgraded my pc in several years. My video card isn't cutting it. (Hd7950). So i ordered a Vega 64. But im a bit worried my main components may cause a bottleneck. Current specs I7 4770k Micro atx motherboard with Z87 chipset 16gb ddr3 Will that be holding my video card back? If i have t...

Update: I ended up ordering the Vega 64. It should be here Saturday. I am going to check how hot it gets, I don't normally have the side of my case on. But if I have to I will be ordering different fans with higher airflow.

If you have the PSU and cooling to support a Vega64 AND plan on sticking with your monitor grab the Vega. I prefer Pascal, but adaptive sync is really nice. Just be aware that Vega could be the new Hawaii and you might not be able to ugprade for several years. I have a corsair Obsidian 450D case an...

Re: Vega 64 or GTX 1080 (not TI)?

I have a Freesync monitor as well. Still went with Nvidia. I would rather keep FPS above the low numbers where VRR technologies become truly valuable, than get a slower graphics card and rely on my monitor to bail me out. Have a friend who was in the same boat and did the same thing. He desperately...

I would not go with either, they are too old (10.5 and 13 months old). Rumours are strong for the GTX 1180 based on Turing to land next month, and AMD is already sampling 7 nm Vega 20 for launch this year (only talking so far about selling it in compute parts, not gaming ones, but if Turing kills t...

1070Ti or Vega 56 and flash it to 64 BIOS. Vega architecture has some legroom left in it while Pascal is fully matured and will not see any significant improvements. The price difference between the vega 56 and vega 64 is 50 dollars. And a very similar price difference between the 1070ti and 1080 i...

Re: Vega 64 or GTX 1080 (not TI)?

FreeSync is pretty nice in my experience. I'd personally get the one with FreeSync. From a gaming perspective, I'd pay a bit extra for FreeSync. I think its definitely worth it. The other consideration is CUDA. There are more 3d renderers and accelerators that use CUDA (although OpenCL's base is st...

Vega 64 or GTX 1080 (not TI)?

Ok so now that cards are at least in the realm of a decent price which card should I go with. I am looking at the Vega 64 vs the GTX1080. The price is within $50.00 of each other. And when looking at benchmarks, not just ones from here, it seems these cards are basically back and forth. I know most ...

I ran ddu in safe mode and completly removed and reinstalled the drivers.

Did some testing. Flickering is only when using freesync.
But I still keep getting black screen and video loss in battlefield 1. Freesync on or off has no affect on this.

Re: RX 580 problems

3440x1440@100Hz is a lot of bandwidth. Are you using the right-spec cables, and are they shorter than 6 feet? That refresh/resolution combination is on the way to 20GBit/s and you're going to need at least a DP 1.2a cable to handle that, probably a short one to ensure the bandwidth isn't going to b...

RX 580 problems

Ok so I had a HD 7950 and put a RX 580 in my pc. But I am having a lot of issues. Using an onscreen fps viewer i see that even ...

Re: Help me with Amds models please

Sounds like you're happy to compromise on image quality, so a 570/580 ought to be a decent stopgap. The RX480 I had was pretty decent at medium settings in newer games at 2560x1440. Good luck hunting for one at sensible prices. Pre-ordering might actually be useful here - you can cancel if the pric...

Re: Help me with Amds models please

If you're intent on spending money, modern games are going to require an RX Vega to hit your freesync range at that resolution. The two framerates I'm talking about here are typical for the majority of the open-world gaming. It'll be higher indoors and the corners of multiplayer maps, but you get t...

Re: Help me with Amds models please

You'd probably be better off returning that 3440x1440 monitor for a 27" 1440P FreeSync gaming monitor and 27" 1440P office monitor. Better gaming features, more productivity space, and fewer pixels to drive. I've tried a 3440x1440 screen with a 580-class card, and it's a pretty miserable ...

Re: Help me with Amds models please

Whist not 100% accurate, GCN is pretty consistent in its performance, with only minor differences in gaming performance between generations. That means you can gauge rough performance by looking at shader count and clocks. Your card = 1792 * 800 R9 280 = no freesync support (rebadged HD7950) R9 280...

What type of touch screen monitor are you using?
I had it installed on a infared monitor and some of the swipe commands would not work because of how close to the edge they were initiated.
