ASUS P6X58D Premium Question -- Accident Leaves Me UnPlugged For 3 Years

An accident forced me unable to use the internet for the past 3 Years -- Oh My, How Things Have Changed! I’ve a covey of questions concerning components that have sat during my hiatus. I purchased a Asus P6X58D Premium motherboard, an Intel i7 920 series 2 & some shifty RAM (shifty as it re...

Re: XP, TRIM & A Kingston SSDNow V Series Gen II

No older version of Windows will help you. Get off that dinosaur of an OS. If you want to stay on XP you can run ccleaner using the wipe free drive space option every once in awhile and that's the same as a manual trim command. Appears as if CrapCleaner -- another good old dinosaur of a prog -- doe...

XP, TRIM & A Kingston SSDNow V Series Gen II

I've just purchased my first SSD -- a 64 GB Kingston SSDNow V Series Gen II -- from my good friends & neighbors at NCIX (it's great to have a leading retailer within walking distance of ones home :) The 2nd Generation Kingston SSDNow V Series has just been introduced & it's advantage over an...

Thanks for confirming that a docked WD15EARS works with Windows 7 64 Bit.
Does anyone know if it will also work -- Docked -- to a Windows XP 64 bit system.
Thanks.

I've looked in several different places for info pertaining to the use of a Western Digital 1.5 TB WD15EARS drive in an external housing or drive dock. The drive\housing\dock would hold files that would be accessed with a Windows XP 64 Bit &r Windows 7 64 Bit computer. Could anyone clarify? Than...

I'm running uTorrent through a Linksys WRT54GL. I'm presently seeding 400+ torrents. Download speed on a fat pipe approaches 12 Mbps, upload is about .9 Mbps . My router has never dropped the signal. I originally purchased the Linksys WRT54GL so I could run Tomato on it but it runs so well stock tha...

Re: Program or Command To List Components Inside A Box?

There's also PSInfo from Sysinternals (which is now owned by MS). It won't give you that level of hardware info, but it's possible to run it across the net to inventory other systems.

You were reading my mind as that's what I wanted to do -- Thanks!

Program or Command To List Components Inside A Box?

I can't believe I just spent 10 minutes trying to find a program (free is good!) that lists the components inside a computer.
Can someone recommend one?
I'd really like one that doesn't have to be installed.
Is there a Microsoft command that does what I'm looking for?
Thanks in advance.

Re: winupgro.exe Trojan -- Has Anyone Had To Deal With This?

Removal of the winupgro.exe trojan has been a MF! Eset suggested booting into XP's safe mode and then running a script but that wouldn't work as the trojan disables safemode. As I awaited Esets reply to that I noticed (on taskmanager) that when I started my computer the winupgro.exe would load befor...

winupgro.exe Trojan -- Has Anyone Had To Deal With This?

I've picked up winupgro.exe Trojan.
Among other things it prevents NOD32 & Windows Defender from working.
I'm presently waiting for a reply from Eset Tech Support.
Has anyone here dealt with this.
I'm on XP 64Bit, dual booting with Vista Ultimate 64Bit on separate partitions.
Thanks in advance.

Could someone recommend a freeware program that I can use to test disc's I've created?

How do I get the resolution & audio, etc.
