Re: 40" 4K Monitor/dispaly/TV

Dont forget at Black Friday, you'll see ALOT of one off models that are basically Black Friday only SKU's. So it could be few and far between on support and recommended settings on them.

Re: Weird fps stuttering

Now looking again my temps on the gpu are sitting at 98C under full load, and the fan is at 100% I think you found your issue? Yea I'm going to take it out right now, and re-clean and re-apply and see what happens. IF it fixes it even temporarily I think maybe the thermal paste is bad. Ive had it f...

Re: Weird fps stuttering

So I'm looking at openhardwaremonitor, and under GPU Load it has weird drops. When I see the fps drop, for some reason the gpu core is dropping to random numbers. 6%, 27% 4%. And each time it drops it bumps right back to 100%. Something must be wrong with it. I just changed the thermal paste about a...

So off a fresh boot, I sit at 1% cpu use, 20% memory use, and 0-1% disk use. The biggest memory use is for Dropbox and Antimalware Service Exectuteable. Loaded dota straight up after that 32% cpu, 36% memory, and once loaded and in a game 0% disk use. Still does the stuttering in game. sitting stead...

Weird fps stuttering

I have a XFX R9 380X. Ever since I installed 17.7.2 I've been having a weird fps stuttering. I had to uninstall 17.7.2 because of a weird HDMI handshake issue, and went back to 17.7.1. I did a DDU going from 7.2 to 7.1. The issue I'm having is I normally sit at 100fps in Dota2, but every couple seco...

Re: Streaming frustrations

We use Sling TV for the last 4 months, on a FireTV box, and Fire Stick. For some strange reason, it doesn't always update to the latest version of the app. What I had to do when I was having a ton of buffering issues was manually update the app. The latest version is currently 5.3.626. I use abdlink...

I had a similar issue when I had Comcast. During the evening when everything was being used, I'd have drop out of TV and internet. I called the multiple times, and finally they said I had too much noise on my line, and replaced my line coming from the node down the street. Never had an issue after t...

I got this chair back in 2015. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008OTQ864/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I love it. Comfy, lots of adjustments, and the mesh makes long gaming sessions during the summer bearable. The only thing I had to do after initial assembly was spray some sil...

Lowest Minimum Processor State

Is 5% the lowest you can set the minimum processor state? I see the toggle goes down to 1%, but does it make a difference? Main reason I'm asking is because my machine spends alot of time at idle, and I can't let it go to sleep due to weird sound/video issues I get when it wakes back up. Just trying...

Monitor reviews?

I'm hoping this isnt a no-no, but whats a legit site that gives good monitor reviews? My bro is in the market for a new 32" or 34" for gaming but I can't tell if half of the crap they talk about is marketing mumbo jumbo, or actual real stuff.

Thanks!

I was given this as a hand me down from my brother. I cant use it because it is HUGE. I have no room for this case, even though I would love to use it. Re: XBox One and DHCP Oddity

Your One is basically always connected. You can have it download games in the background without it even looking like the console is on. So I can see the DHCP request being the Xbox checking to see if it has anyhting queued up to download.

Re: High i7-6700 idle temps?

Speed is still sitting at 3.8GHz Which power profile are you using in Power Options? If you set it to High Performance the CPU will never drop frequency at idle, so it'll never drop to it's lowest temps. If that's not it then you have something keeping your CPU frequency up, which will in turn keep...

Re: High i7-6700 idle temps?

I just got the Xeon E3 1275v5, which is basically the same chip with a higher TDP, higher base clock, and ECC. It basically idles at ambient with a hyper 212 evo with the single original fan. Though, the big difference seems to be that speedstep isn't working at all as several posters have noticed....

Re: High i7-6700 idle temps?

When you remounted the waterblock, did you notice if the standoffs for the waterblock moved around in their holes? or were they completely snug? During my experience, I was keyed off that they would move, meaning that the motherboard was not filling the gap between the backplate and the standoffs. ...

Radiator is in the back of my case. Fan is between the radiator and the case blowing out. Put the radiator between the fan and the case - pretty sure whether you're using it as an intake or an exhaust the air from the fan needs to actually hit the radiator for best results, simple air pressure bein...

Re: High i7-6700 idle temps?

Sitting at 3800 mhz.....hmm that sounds really wrong. Checked in CPU-Z and it shows right now fluctuating between 3700 and 4000mhz. I bypassed th...

Re: Media Server / Gaming Build

I would say CPU. I play Dota2, and its not very GPU intensive, so whenever I would have to transcode something and try to play, i'd see my fps drop anywhere from 10-20 fps. I was barely getting 60fps without transcoding, so would drop to 50 or 40 during non big battles, and even lower if there was a...
