Re: Project Management Software Recommendation?

If you're managing team projects, then it could be worth looking at something like Jira, we've just moved over to it from Basecamp and it fits us better (though it took a while to really get it going).

Re: Monitor with least eye strain for users with migraine

I also suffer from headaches after using some monitors for a while. Only a week or so ago, after much reading of reviews, I bought 2 of Dell's P2314H monitors (based on this review . I went with the 23" version as it was on offer at the time and they're the same resolution. I've only used them ...

Re: Apple openly insults its customers

I find that a lot of people who are this easily insulted tend to come from the USA... Yep. I'm from the USA and I agree, the percentage of people who wear their feelings on their shoulders is far too high. Embarrassingly high. When did people switch from wearing them on the sleeve to wearing them o...

Re: Smartphone or app for person with poor eyesight

I don't know how far Android has come in recent years, but iOS actually has some pretty decent accessibility options such as low contrast/inverted colours, screen zoom, screen reader style voice over mode, baked in. It can also work with some Bluetooth braille displays. I know some people who bought...

If that's the master socket you shouldn't mess with it as it's technically Openreach property so leave any modifications until the line is active.

At work, we use LaCie big disks for external storage. They support Firewire 800 and multiple RAID modes.

Typically, last Thursday I bought the very same model for £105 ($160). (that does include all sales taxes)

I have no complaints with the drive itself though, it's a very nice drive (my first SSD and replacing a 5400rpm laptop drive).

Mac mini (2011 i5-2.3, 8GB), 11W idle, 16W playing local 1080p h264 video, 35W exporting the same video at 720p. Wifi was enabled throughout. <1W in standby (meter just reads 0W).

Some seem to suggest that this new wave of spam is committed not by spam-bots, but by actual human beings employed for pennies in places like China and India. I'm guessing there's not much TR can do about that besides killing them one by one. Is there a way to moderate the first few posts when some...

Re: Raspberry Pi Launch Botched... why did they do this?

This was obviously intended to be a UK-only release, but the Raspberry Pi people didn't bother to tell anyone outside of the UK that this was the case. If they'd intended it to be a solely UK based launch, I don't think they'd have pulled the trigger at 6am GMT. I'm in the UK and I didn't get one e...

I really enjoy watching The Shield . I've got all 7 seasons but so far have only watched the first 5 due to lack of time (going on past form, I know I'll watch an entire season in one sitting — again). The Wire will be my next one on my list. Other than that, Spaced , Black Books , The Mighty Boosh ...
