Re: Windows 7 or Windows 8

thanks for the replies peeps, I just decided to buy windows 7 from my school. It says "windows ultimate 7" on the disk so, that is even better than professional right? For 35 bucks i'd said I nailed it. Probably just going to stick with windows 7 for a while, I can always upgrade later. I ...

Windows 7 or Windows 8

So I'm building a new system, just ordered all the parts, it's super awesome. I will be using the computer primarily for gaming. I just don't know if I should go with windows 7 or 8. I can get windows 7 through my university of 35 bucks, but they don't sell windows 8 yet. Should I just go with windo...

Re: 2009 NFL power rankings

As much as I dislike Favre... AD truly is amazing. That long run he had was simply insane. He shoved a Cleveland player out of bounds, coming to a full stop and accelerated so quickly no one could catch him. If the Vikings keep Favre in check and Childress doesn't screw it up for them then they are...

Re: 2009 NFL power rankings

Wait he ranked the Superbowl team from last year first and the team with the worst record last year.....last. Genius! Um... those are composite ranks... "he" did not rank anything, its the average of the six website "he" uses, its like the average opinion. And i don't get...

Re: Computer upgrade

Hey everyone. I flashed my mb, and it went fine. I got 4gb of corsair ram , (it went up 15$ the day after i bought it, and i got the 20$ rebate). I bought the Q6700, with the arctic cooling freezer 7 rev. 2.(195$ total). I'm running it at 3.2 GHz, i haven't tried to go higher yet. After running prim...

Re: Computer upgrade

OK, so I'm getting a Q6700. Now on the gigabyte cpu support list it says it supports that type of CPU sense bios version F12. So does that mean i should update to that version (F12), or should i just update to the latest version and it will include all the previous updates (F14)? Also I have never u...

Re: Computer upgrade

Ok, well newegg does not sell the Q6000s, so i found this Q6700 (they dont sell the Q6600, and this was cheaper than i could find a Q6600) at superbiiz. So does anyone know if this site is legit? Also, would that come with the CPU fan or not? And if it doesn't, could i use the E6420 fan?

Re: Computer upgrade

My motherboard is Rev 1.3, so i assume that would fall under Rev 1.0. And after reading an article about gaming with due vs quad cores, i think i want the E8500 anyways. But that processor is also listed as not supported, so if its not supported does that it for sure will not work, or just that it h...

Computer upgrade

I bought a computer over 2 years ago. It has a GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 motherboard, intel E6420, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS, and 2Gb of DDR2 800 ram. EDIT: I have vista 64 bit, if that is important. I want to upgrade, and I think I want the Intel Core2 Quad Q9400 processor. And I thinking of also getting ...

Re: NFL Power Rankings

A win is a win. I thought the whole point of this kind of ranking is to go beyond the "win is a win" ranking. If it wasn't, we'd just go by team records. The lions being so close to beating the vikings (if they had just taken the "free" field goal, it would have been theirs, all...

Re: NFL Power Rankings

A win is a win, and the vikings are known for play down for bad teams and up for good teams. If you win you will probably move up or stay the same, if you lose you will probably go down.

Re: NFL Power Rankings

I was just happy to see the vikings at 13, they started the season 1-3 and were as low as 25. And we are an amazing team with two big holes, a QB and coach.

Re: Firmware

"Hitting it" will just cause the modem to reboot. You have to hold it down for 5+ seconds to restore the factory defaults. As your manual says. I did hold it down for 5+ seconds. It still does not work. I hooked up my old router and it works find, it also works fine with no router. Thanks...

Re: Firmware

That's bizarre, I don't think you have your PC plugged into the LAN port on the router and your internet connection plugged in to the WAN port because you are on the 12.206.254.0/24 subnet. You should be on an RFC1918 address which would be: 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255 (10/8 prefix) 172.16.0.0 - 172....

Re: Firmware

On that it says my IPv4 address is something totally different from 192.168.1.1. Do i need to change my IP address to 192.168.1.1? Just to verify: you're attempting to connect to the router via a cable (for security reasons most wireless routers won't allow you to log in wirelessly by default).
