My uneducated guess is that Intel would not release a new processor that still had this errata.

I wonder how long until the potentially ginormous class-action lawsuit is started? I don't see how it couldn't be.

Re: Xbox One X

I was very tempted to get the X last week when we bought the S. I've been rocking the 360 Elite since launch day (it was the first version that had HDMI back in April 2007). Paid $480 for it at the time. It has lasted me over 10 years, which is a great ROI. I couldn't quite justify the price differ...

Just curious if a 2017 Gift Guide will be coming this year? I'm being nagged by my wife and parents that I don't have a list for them. I know, first world problems.....

How funny, I started this thread almost 1.5 years ago. How cool to see it revived again. Sad to see the mythical ergo gaming keyboard is still a bit of a unicorn. :-(

I'm too busy playing on this thing to talk about it much. It's fantastic in nearly every way. I have to agree with you. I have a 4K HDR TV and the couple X1X enhanced games that I have, Shadow of War, Diablo 3, and Killer Instinct look amazing. It even looked a lot better on my friends 1080P TV. Wo...

I didn't really know much of Tom's music except the hits that pretty much everyone has heard, Free Fallin', etc until my best friend, who was a huge Petty fan, introduced me to more of his library. I really grew to appreciate his music and the person he was. Went to 4 or 5 of his concerts, mostly at...

I play WoWS a bit and, from what I have heard, "Seal Clubbing" is when a skilled player that could be playing high tiered games plays a lower tier to prey upon newer, less experienced players.

Holy cow, bro. That is a lot of soda. You didn't say if it was diet or not that you are drinking. Either way though, not good. Well done on cutting down. That's a good first step to take.

I average a little less than a can a day and my wife is kicking my ass about it.

There is also this (but no Linux apparently): https://viivo.com/ Checked out Viivo a little bit. Looks like it might do most of what I need too. I like that it compresses files, even though I'm in no danger of maxing out any of the free cloud services. It's made by PKware too. If my early 90's memo...

Boxcryptor looks kinda perfect. All except the $48/year for more than one cloud provider and more than two devices. Not bad though.

Now to read about Cryptomator.

Encryption on cloud drives

There are lots of smart people here at TR so I'm going to throw this question out on these forums. What I'd like to be able to do is keep a blob of encrypted personal documents out on a cloud drive. Be it Google drive, One drive, it shouldn't matter I wouldn't think. However, I would like the data t...

Re: Apple Takes 104% of All Smartphone Profits in Q3

And even if it's true, it says much more about Apple's competitors and how hard is the Android market right now, than it says about Apple itself. The number (104%) wasn't meant to trumpet Apple. It's just one way of looking at the Q3 data, an observation. If you think it was then you assigned that ...

Re: Apple Takes 104% of All Smartphone Profits in Q3

Yep, math can be manipulated to come up with all kinds of numbers. Nobody is disputing that. In this case some people find the 104% figure interesting and it does add some perspective on the smart phone industry in Q3. Perhaps you can't do much with the number after that, but it isn't up to you to d...

*Stolen from the comments on the linked article.* This is an example of how Apple was able to make more than 100% of the profits. It makes sense once you think about it. Apple makes 10 dollars. Samsung looses 2 dollars Total profit is now 8 dollars. Apples share of total profit is now 10/8 = 125%.
