One caution about learning new languages, at least in my experience: it's hard to learn something like Japanese if you don't have friends to practice with (or if you're not going to Japan). I find myself with little motivation to go beyond the basics when there's nobody to encourage me to learn more...

On some older keyboards the control key was right next to 'A', where caps lock is now. The 'Windows' key seems to be a fairly recent invention too, not to speak of all the special "Mail" and "Web" keys nowadays.

1) If Macs are so great then what the heck are Mac owners all using Windows on the Apples for?? I thought buying an Apple was because the user was looking to use progs that can't be touched by a Windows prog, which leads me to... Remember that Mac users tend to be more passionate about Macs than PC...

I got a set of these a few weeks ago. They're very good for the price, but the best thing for me were all the input options and the surround decoding--I'm using this mostly for DVDs and music in the living room (no HTPC). On the minus side I have yet to figure out how to run the rear speaker wires n...

There are a couple of cost of living comparators available on the web. There's one at salary.com for instance ( http://swz.salary.com/costoflivingwizard/layoutscripts/coll_start.asp ). So, the new 680i chipset does in fact support what I have been talking about all along. Great! The problem is you're blaming ASUS for not supporting something they never claimed to support. And for some reason you're using forums for other motherboards and chipsets as proof of how ASUS has betrayed...

I have a v270 that I use with a MacBook Pro. The connection is lost every 5-10 minutes or so, although it comes back within a few seconds. I don't know if that's the mouse or the MacBook. The v270 is also a bit on the heavy side for me, since it takes two AA batteries.

The goal of most 4 year colleges is to give you a fairly broad education. You probably won't have a chance to get very deeply into any specific subject like writing games. At best a big college will have a few relevant classes like computer graphics and animation, and you might have some chances to ...

I wouldn't spring for a MacBook Pro if I wasn't sure that I needed or wanted one. If you're just interested in trying out a Mac, then you're probably better off with one of Apple's cheaper models--the regular white MacBook is much more cost-effective than the MacBook Pro. You can also opt for a Mac ...

I think finding an internship is pretty similar to finding a full-time job. If the company is a good place to work full-time, then it should be a good place for an internship as well. The best way to tell is by looking at the people who currently work there. If they seem happy, then you'd probably b...

Apple computers have always been considered more expensive, but part of the reason is that Apple usually includes more stuff with their packages. For many companies the specific language doesn't matter as much as the language paradigm. Also, "worth...
