What proof/% alcohol is safe to leave in the freezer?

Hey guys,

I just brought home some normal coconut rum. 21% by volume. I'm thinking about storing hit in the freezer. Bad idea?

My turn: It's 2014 and UPS doesn't have an app that allows you to GPS-locate the truck with your package on it. There's an app, but it doesn't track the trucks. If you have a tracking number you should be able to track the physical location of the package. You still have to wait for it to arrive at...

Re: 2014 Super Bowl

OTA doesn't always work. I'm in Chicago's west suburbs and I can rarely get CBS, and if I do, it's not pretty. Yeah I should qualify that the only major networks I get are ABC, CBS, and FOX (no NBC :( ) ABC and FOX come in fine, but CBS is unstable. Good looking signal, but just don't walk in front...

Re: 2014 Super Bowl

We got rid of our cable to save money and went to Netflix. My usual Superbowl party location is out because my friend has to work. I might watch at my parent's house, since they're happy to see the grandkids for whatever excuse. I usually am more interested in the commercials since the teams I like...

Re: Ssidbroadcast's Steam Box

Before we run wild picking out components, let's answer two questions: 1. How small do we want this? 2. How will this be used? Good questions. 1. Small enough to sit next to a PS4 and not seem ungainly or over-huge. Maybe something the size of an original Xbox and no larger. 2. Just Steam OS games ...

CPU cooling question

Quick question: A buddy I work with just got a corsair water cooler for his AMD FX-4350 and the temps being reported at Idle are close to or at 0.0°C :o Um, isn't that supposed to be physically impossible with a water cooler? Room temperature should be around 20°C right? Even if it were somehow belo...

Re: I want to build a PS4

I'm digging the enthusiasm. But this is really a lost cause bro. No standard PC architecture is going to resemble the PS4 enough to be worth your time at all. You won't be targeting the correct APIs, the entire pipeline is dramatically different, your hardware access is going to vary greatly, etc e...

Re: I want to build a PS4

What if I want to get started BEFORE I apply for a dev kit? See that system in your sig? That would be the cheapest place to start... You would just end up porting from PC to console (backwards compared to most other devs.) A build consisting of an AMD APU would get you closer to the PS4 as far as ...

Re: I want to build a PS4

How are you going to write a program for the PS4 without their APIs and a unit to test it on? I was going to build something in C#, perhaps using either Unity or Visual Studio Express 2012 (don't laugh), and then worry about porting after I get roughly halfway through after I get a PS4 dev license.

Yeah, unless the point of this exercise is to get a standard PC that performs approximately like a PS4, this is going to be a waste of time.

I want to build a PS4

Hey guys, I want to get back into game development. I want to spec out and build my own PS4 devkit. Mainly just something built from off-the-shelf parts that most closely resembles the PS4. I know that the Kabini-based AMD APUs are based on the same Jaguar tech as the PS4... but the catch is that it...

how is chrome book different than a tablet? other than the fact that it has physical keyboard? Well, it's essentially a netbook that is web-browser only. The iPad has way more apps, but no physical keyboard. Going with the iPad 2 would've been okay by me, but I don't want to lug around a keyboard d...

And so far, it's not bad.

Also, have any of you guys gotten a chromebook?
