LOL at the main page now having an OnlyFans section

I don't understand how this site is even remotely profitable/worthwhile to the new owners. Can you generate ad revenue from bots/webscrapers? There's no way actual humans are visiting this site anymore.

I wonder if the new owners are getting paid to test experimental spambots in the forums. All these CCTV/filming posts seem like a nascent machine learning bot trying to figure out how to fit in naturally. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98k05_bM2e4

I think your inflation goggles are kicking in. The 7800GT TR reviewed launched at $399 (back in 2005!). In 2020 dollars, that price is ~$530.00. The 7800 GTX launched as an ~$800.00 card in 2020 dollars.

Titular song from his solo album released this past February. Beautifully composed song. Whole album is great.

Re: What are you listening to RIGHT NOW?

I think one of the best attributes of the jam scene is how many of the bands are open to tapers, and giving some tapers soundboard access. Definitely not feasible for big-name bands (sadly) filling huge venues, but smaller bands and venues. Archive.org is a treasure that I love dearly. There are sev...

Re: What are you listening to RIGHT NOW?

Also somewhat of a hot take, but Comfortably Numb is such a bleh song from their entire catalog IMO. Probably a fair criticism, compared to so much of Pink Floyd's discography. The guitar solos are cool, though. For sure. I think my favorite version is their Live 8 performance - the whole performan...

Pink Floyd, Comfortably Numb Learning David Gilmour's solos in this song right now, and it's become my (temporary?) favorite song. Re: Coronavirus COVID-19 precautionary measures?

I don't know that I'd call a quarter to half million deaths "small". (Which is what you'd get if it is 10x as deadly as the flu.) Again it's worth repeating that the observed mortality rate is contingent on the healthcare system not being overwhelmed. Which is the main reason why shelter-...

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19 precautionary measures?

Where are the "extra" deaths? They ain't in this graph. They definitely are. Look at when COVID deaths in the U.S. started to take off (around March 14th, or Week 12). The normal trend, as your figure shows, is for deaths to decline as flu season wanes. 2020 is the only year where deaths ...

Americans are not healthy in the default case. Start the assumption with Hypertension (130 mmHg or higher systolic) and/or Obesity, and suddenly the blood clots make a lot of sense. Mmmm... mutter paneer!

Paneer melts much better than halloumi, though halloumi gets quite soft. Halloumi is also quite squeaky. I've never used paneer myself though (I've only had it in Indian dishes), so I can't provide a direct comparison.

Re: Bread cheese anyone?

Yes. Regularly use halloumi in some vegetarian dishes, and I've substituted bread cheese a handful of times. From what I recall, bread cheese is an okay substitute but it doesn't achieve as soft a texture as halloumi when heated. I also remember that it blackens more than it browns relative to hallo...

At the start of the decade, streaming services like Netflix and Hulu were in their infancy.
