Re: New Computer/Upgrade

Thanks for all the feedback/suggestions. I ended up going with a 7850 from Microcenter for the video card plus the other parts I listed in my original post. Got the new parts in the case last night after work and everything is running great.

Re: New Computer/Upgrade

Thanks for the reply.

So AMD Radeon cards won't have any compatibility issues with an Intel board and CPU? I have never really been clear on that.

New Computer/Upgrade

Hi all, I'm starting to think about upgrading my old computer with mostly new parts. Only things I'll be keeping from my old build is the optical drive, old hard drives, case, PSU, and cooling stuff (case fans, CPU cooler, etc..). I've kind of started with the TR system guide Sweeter spot section an...

Re: World Of Warcraft

I can't say for 100% certainty but I would asume that you have to click on the flag and be the one to return it. I know for the AV portion of that acheivment that I had to actually click the flag in a tower to turn it over. I remember this because in the AV I was in there were a group of horde and o...

Re: World Of Warcraft

Yea, I think I am going to pick up herbalism on one of my alts this weekend and level that up just to gather herbs and volatile life to sell and make some gold. One of my buddies on my server is making gold hand over fist just selling his herbs and volatile life.

Try that guide. There is a link in the top section for herbalism guide as well. It tells you how much of everything you need to level from 1 to 525.

Re: Process.kill background tasks

I am fairly certain that excel.exe is not running. I have this little program setup on one of our servers running 24-7. It is setup to listen to a folder for any text file that is dropped in and process it. I just checked the task manager on the server and there are no instances of excel.exe running...

Re: Process.kill background tasks

I know this was from the end of January but incase you hadn't figured it out I'll share my code. I just recently developed an application to take a delimited text file and import it into excel. The code below always closes the excel.exe in the task manager. Hope this helps if you are still looking f...

Re: IE 8 not playing flash

Well I reloaded the machine with the XP disk that came with it from Dell and everything works fine. Last time I loaded windows I used an XP SP3 disk that our company purchased. Could something be wrong with our disk that I used last time? I don't know kind of strange, but I don't think I will be usi...

Re: IE 8 not playing flash

I've already spent too much time on it this morning w/o fixing it. I will most likely end up rebuilding it if resetting IE8 doesn't work when flash and java are uninstalled since it only takes a few minutes to unintall and resintall those again. I won't be able to do that until tomorrow morning beca...

IE 8 not playing flash

I hope this is the right place to ask this question...I was wondering if anyone has come across an issue I am having and might know a solution to my problem I've described below. I have a laptop that I loaded up from a Windows XP SP3 disk. Ever since I reloaded it with this disk I cannot play flash ...

Cool, thanks for the reply. That is kind of what I was thinking but just wanted to clarify. :D I think I have browsed that site a bit. I am interested to see what I can do once the dual specs go in when I am not needed to be tanking on a boss. I play a feral druid but I've always been spec'd more into the tanking talents and haven't really had a chance to see what I can do for cat dps while picking up all the essential cat talents ...

Re: World Of Warcraft

We finally killed Sarth + 3D. After a good month of attempts we walked in and one shot it last night. I think only two people died and no one got hit by void zones or lava waves until one of the last ones but survived since the increased fire dmg debuff was gone. Fun fight and we made it look so eas...

Re: World Of Warcraft

Got another Twilight Drake in the guild last night, I might win the roll eventually... We're now up to 3. I wound up getting my rotation down perfect, but probably a bit too perfect. I wound up tanking all of the adds on 25-man sarth, and I would get gibbed pretty quickly. On the other hand, I thin...

Well, it turns out no one in the game can get the Chef achievement until they fix it. You can't get the full Northrend Gourmet because 4 recipes are missing from the game. Re: Need help increasing frames per second.

Ok so I got home and reset my defaults on the driver back to factory settings. I am running dual monitors and if I maximize WoW on my default monitor I get 30 fps in Shat sitting idle. If I drag it over to my secondary monitor I get 17-19 fps. Then I change it so the game is opened in full screen an...

Just want to say thanks for all the discussion here. My resolution that I have tried is 1280x1024 and 1024x768 with the 1024x768 giving me a little bit better frame rate but not a whole lot. I am playing in windowed mode with it maximized on my screen. As far as installing drivers, I've installed ht...

Apple iPhone 2.0

I didn't find anything in the search on this but has anyone read about the new iPhone coming out July 11th? I heard of something about the new iPhone being able to connect to exchange servers. I wouldn't mind getting rid of the BlackBerry from work and picking up a new iPhone if this is the case. So...

I feel your pain with people forgetting how to do fights. Two weeks ago my guild went into Mag's liar for the first time in months. We couldn't get past the first channeler. I think we took two attempts at it at the end of a raid night and we just called it after we couldn't get one down. Heals were...

Looks like the background downloader got the 2.4 patch yesterday. Wonder how soon the patch will be coming. I am fairly excited for it w/ the new island and new dungeon and new daily quests. I have been saving heroic badges, up to about 225 now and looking to get maybe 100 more at least for three up...
