Deleted TR

For about 12 years or so I had TR as my browser home page and last year I replaced it with just a blank Google page. Today I deleted TR from my favorites and I'm likely to seldom return. Just wanted to say goodbye and thanks for all the help I received here over the years. I learned a lot here and h...

Lose internet when upgrading to Build 2004

Three attempts to update W10 to the latest build which is 2004, and I lose internet access every time. My only solution is to revert back to the previous build and it works fine. I've tried a couple of solutions that I've found online but no luck. Anyone have some tips or tricks. My sytem is in my s...

Re: No... not him! Don't tell me they got him too!

What is TR's target audience? I'm not sure it's me. I'm not in the IT/Tech field in any way, but I'm a hobbyist/enthusiast that really enjoys techy stuff. I build computers and I'm the go-to guy for tech related things with family and friends. When I have questions my first place is YouTube now., an...

I liked Sons of Anarchy, but Mayans is falling a little short too me. I thought Edward James Olmos would carry the show, but he's almost insignificant so far. I think it would help if there wasn't so many subtitles.

I'm really struggling with The Expanse. I finally finished Season 1, but it's just not "grabbing" me yet. I fell asleep during most of the episodes and had to go back and watch again. I'm only on episade 2 of Season 2 and hoping it gets much better for me. Other than Chrisjen Avasarala (Sh...

Re: What are you playing right now?

I just took a look at Steam's list of Top 100 games being played and noticed something odd. Not a single Call of Duty game in the top 100. Has COD finally run it's course? COD has steadily gone downhill since COD4 Modern Warfare. IMO of course. A new one comes out soon. Just wait a month. ...which ...

I think our biggest fear is the amount of rain being predicted. I've heard forecasts predict anywhere from 30 to 40 inches of rain. Schools in the Carolinas have already made changes to their events schedules. My local Wal-Mart, and other stores, are already out of bottled water and other "stor...

If you have a dual band router, try the other frequency to see if it makes a difference. Otherwise, refer to what Ludi just said previously.

I was faced with the same dilemma a couple of years ago when my Windows Phone finally died. Boy do I miss my WP. I went with the iPhone6. It took several weeks (months) before I was proficient with it, but I eventually got used to it. I still hate Apple, and I'd love to go back to WP, but it's just ...

I play at 2560x1440 on an Asus PG279Q G-Sync monitor and everything is gorgeous with a GTX1070. However, I'm not playing any of the most recent games out there.

Ugh I still remember that injury. "I'll be back next week." Even walked off the field. Nope, football career over. I never understood why Bo Jackson in particular just HAD to play football. As a RB, he's gonna take a lot more hits than say Dieon Sanders. Much higher injury risk. He could ...

Without a doubt, my favorite athlete of all time was/is Bo Jackson. NFL statistics might not show it, but he was the greatest running back of all time. What incredible speed and strength rolled into a single package. BTW, "hero" is not a term I associate with sports figures or celebrities.

Growing up in rural north FL neither of my parents were huge sports fans but my mother would get into baseball during the world series time and watch it on TV each year. My family and I are playing a card game called Hand and Foot. It uses 6 decks of playing cards and typically is a 4 person game with 2 two-person teams. Great family fun, and gets us away from our cell phones, TV's, and computers.

I'd like to think that a decent shop would NOT install 8gb of ram into a system running a 32-bit operating system.

Actually, mine came with a DP cable in the box, it's just not long enough for my needs. I'm only using HDMI because I was already using it with my previous monitor.

Another reason for not using HDMI is that G-Sync only works with DisplayPort. It would be a massive waste to get a nice monitor like the PG279G (I have the same one) and then not using G-Sync. I think that any DP cable should work as most are 1.2 or higher. I just got some random cheap one and it w...

All great suggestions above.

If you're going with the MX300 SSD, then get the M.2 version. It saves space and makes the build a little cleaner.

Highly recommend the Cryorig H7 cooler.
