Time for a graphics upgrade - need advice

Hey all! After 4 years of gaming on a GeForce 9600 GT, Fallout 4 as finally strong-armed me into an upgrade. For years, I built my own machines (in fact I built the one I play on now), but my knowledge is no longer current so I am looking for some guidance. Here are the relevant specs: ⋅  ...

Re: Used Car for $7000ish

Hey guys, my mom's van just died on her. She's looking for a new car between $5,000 (Dad's Price) and $10,000 (Mom's Price) so lets go for around $7,000. I think they are looking at around 50,000 and reliable. I was thinking about the 2002-2007 Toyota Camry and 2003-2008 Toyota Corolla. I'm a huge ...

Are some of the benefits of the SSD lost when you add the 1.5TB HDD? For the price premium of SSDs, I'd be inclined to get a traditional HDD for my system drive. I see what's going on now! (The case supports 1x3.5" drive and 1x2.5" drive). Looks good. =) I'd consider buying quiet fans...

Win Key Emulation for a Model M

So I love my model m keyboard at home, but I miss the Win key, especially with the powerful start features in Win7. Do any of you model m users know an effective way of emulating the win key?

Re: A good 24" LCD

People that spend $200 on a monitor, for the most part, aren't quality-conscious. People that are concerned about the quality of their display, for the most part, at least try really hard to stretch their budget away from TN territory. You got a recommendation for a panel that's about the cheapest ...

Re: Monitor Just Took A Dirt Nap

I really am concerned with input lag so was leaning towards the sammy but I have always gone with quality as much as possible so the H-IPS was a real draw on the hp. I am really split on what to do. For my money, it's not really worth sweating a 2ms difference in latency. The human eye has an aggre...

The only downside is that I can't enjoy this shiny delicacy right away, since it came without the cable. So, I need your help. Where can these little tr...

Re: Moderate Gaming build - Sanity check please?

Here is where you should consider splurging. Your monitor is the primary interface with the computer. You use it all of the time. Monitors tend to last longer than PCs do, so you're going to be using it for a lot longer than your other components. Consider a 1920x1200 monitor with an IPS or *VA LCD...

I was going to recommend stepping up to the 640GB SE16, but with that deal on the 500GB model now I'm thinking of buying some and having them shipped to one of my friends in Toronto.

Great build. Pull that trigger!

I'd put them both on the same box if it were me. As would I, but I'd likely go with a Q6600 for the processor instead of dual-core. If you are really worried about interference, you can set up 2 different arrays, one with a couple of big hdd's for the storage and another with small, fast one's for ...
