In addition to not meeting your throughput requirement on paper, there's virtually no chance of getting a _quality_ product at that price point. Also, are you planning to RAID those SSD's? Not in 2.2.2, at least. I always installed the guest additions when I was running that version on Vista x64 (with my current hardware), and never had any problems.

Good point - I do have PAE/NX enabled, and seem to recall having issues when I was installing guests with it disabled. My Ubuntu 9.04 is 64-bit, but my XP guest is 32-bit.
