Re: Antec 900 Fan Filters

yeah by the time I finished the build I actually did the same thing. I used short bolts to hols the filters to the front of the fans after drilling larger holes in the fan bracket. it works much better that way. the only downside to using filers int his case is that its a bit of a pain to clean, but...

Re: pfsense

I've done a couple network installs with another guy I work with. pfSense is all he uses. I'll admit that most of the functions it offers are still a bit over my head but it seems to offer a lot of functionality. The SquidGuard content blocker that works with pfSense is pretty nice too. Lets you red...

Re: Q9450 Overclocking

My Q9450 runs at 3.2GHz but I had some BSOD issues until I bumped up the voltage to 1.18v from 1.15v. Since then it's been totally stable and idles at about 32C on average. The nice thing about running your Q9450 at 3.2GHz is that with DDR2 800 RAM in dual channel, your system clock and memory clock...

MW3 was good, but Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries will always be my favorite. MW4 didn't really do it for me. Re: Which Quad Core should I get?

The Q9450/X3350 is pretty sweet. Mine runs at 3.2ghz (8 x 400) at 1.18V with 1600 FSB, which means 1:1 system clock to memory clock ratio (2 x 2GB G.Skill PC2-6400), all while idling at ~32 degrees centigrade. If you don't mind coughing up the $350 then I'd say its definitely the way to go...

A Question About Power Cables...

I wasn't sure whether to post this in this section, or the OCing and cooling section, but since the question is in regards to power cables for case fans, I figured this was the best bet. Anyway, here goes... I have an Antec 900 case and an Abit IX38 Quad GT mobo. I'd like to connect my case fans to ...

I haven't used the 300, but the 900 is excellent. I have a Q9450 running at 3.2ghz (400 x 8) with 1.18v and it idles at about 30-32 degrees celsius in my 900 with all of the fans set to medium. The 300 seems to be very similar, minus the frills, so I would expect it to perform similarly...

I might try to just remove emerald and hope for the best. If anyone has any ideas, by all means let me know, otherwise I'll ju...

Re: Ubuntu 7.10 hogging RAM

I'm just afraid that if I uninstall it, I won't be able to get my damned title bars back. Whenever I disable window decorations, they disappear. I'm worried that if I just uninstall emerald, it won't automatically revert back to the GNOME theme.

Anyone know for sure?

Ubuntu 7.10 hogging RAM

I don't know why, but Ubuntu seems to be running very slowly lately. I'm running it on an older Dell Dimension with a 2.53ghz P4 and 1GB of RAM. Cooling Question: Scythe Infinity in an Antec 900

I'm putting a Scythe Infinity into my Antec 900 case. The heatsink comes with a 120mm fan. Should the fan blow right to left, into the case's rear 120mm exhaust fan, or straight up from below the heatsink, into the case's jumbo 200mm top exhaust fan? Which would be better for airflow considering tha...
