I take it no one remembers Anarchy Online? They were the I believe the first major sci-fi mmog, and their game wasn't playable for about year after launch from what I understand... Initially AO had a bad launch, and after peaking at about 60,000 subscribers shortly thereafter, they began to rapidly...

Sorry, but I heap vitriol on any provider of goods or services that doesn't provide a functional product, and then I no longer patronize their business. You're more than welcome to continue giving them your money, if you wish, just remember, as long as you're willing to pay for shoddy goods and serv...

Prior to Doom 3, Blizzard held the title for the fastest selling PC game ever with the War 3 expansion. Prior to that game, Blizz held the title with the D2 expansion pack. Blizz had half a million people sign up for the Open Beta within 24 hours of the sign up page going live. Through mismanagement...

You're trying to rule out 4 of the biggest MMO games to try and prove your point. Way to skew things. SoE essentially runs half the MMOG market. It's rediculous to automaticlly disqualify them from any comparisons. http://www.mmogchart.com Of the top four largest MMOs, the top two are Lineage and L...

If all the bugs in WoW are still around in a few more months, I'll have to conclude the same thing about Blizzard. And thus, the Blizzard that brought us St...

Thats funny in a couple ways: 1) Thats just small snapshot, I could go to any other MMORPG forums and find a list longer than those! Quit talking about it, and do it. Until then, I have no reason to believe you. Excepting the SOE games, I'm pretty sure you WON'T be able to find a similar list out o...

WoW has an incredibly long bug list. For example, there's a bug with the arcane missile spell for mages where the animation will fire, and all the mana will be drained, but no damage will be dealt to the target. Happens ten to twenty percent of the time, according to a mage friend of mine. That's a ...

Blizzard was originally developing Ghost with the assistance of another game designer company...ahh, it was Nihilistic. Basically, Blizz provided the ideas, and Nihilistic was doing all the grunt work. Ghost should have been out late last year (the press release announcing the game specified a 2003 ...

Colored pixels are "stuck" in one configuration. Some manufacturers vary their return policy based on "stuck" or "dead" pixels, i.e., you can have three dead pixels, or five stuck pixels, before a return is warranted. Some manufacturers go to the extreme of saying the stuck or dead pixels must be wi...

Forget about 3dmark. It's useless for anything other than as a burn in test to see if your system is stable. Turn up the eye candy. Put in Doom 3, or HL2, or WoW, or CoH, or whatever game you're playing right now. Does it give you a good framerate? My guess would be "yes". Does anything else matter?...

Forge is correct. At the very least, installing your monitor's INF will customize Windows to show only the available resolutions and refresh rates that your monitor is actually capable of.

But my point is that you can have both, with a little bit of effort. One does not need to be sacrificed for another. Yes, that doesn't mean that sometimes one isn't incidental or inconsequential to the other. I'll point out Dune again. Nothing in Dune, outside of the Spice, is a particularly extrav...

I'd like to interject that the impression I got from the trailer when I originally watched it wasn't that this was a sci-fi movie, but more of a drama, with technology being the antagonistic element setting the main characters against each other. Think "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". The "s...

Having said that, caveat emptor on these discs if you're anything approaching a...
