If you see that pic and instantly know what it is, how it works, and what is its source material, you're old (like me).

Hey I'm only 29!

Re: How long before your last build started to fail?

Rig in my sig still works fine, been using it since the late 90's. Bios battery finally died though, and I need to replace that, and the old SCSI drive is getting a little questionable, so may need to replace that soon. Pretty much all my old rigs still work, but I did get lucky and not really buy ...

Re: How long before your last build started to fail?

I built a rig in 2008 around a Core 2 Quad Q9300 with a Corsair 650w PSU I sold the mobo and processor to a buddy in 2011 and built an FX-6100 bulldozer rig - not too long after a capacitor sheared off that motherboard the 2011 Bulldozer rig used the same PSU which ate it in spring 2016 and took my ...

Illegal in Canada, but I had a balisong pen I used to love abusing. I had a switchblade phase for a while (that is to say they were "spring assisted" where the assistance kickd in almost immediately to get around the Canadian switchblade ban) but they wereu sually too cheap to open clamshe...

funny you mention POWER - Canada's largest grocery chain uses it a ton on the backend powering Oracle DBs - was my first job out of college supporting that, I felt so cool.

Yes - though nearly anything outside of an old dvd player you hook to it will have some set of "smart tv" features - unless of course you never connect to the network with whats plugged in

I only like podcasts while driving - I never really listened to the TR podcast but I'd start now that my commute is longer and my tinnitus makes me want to listen to less music.

Video content is useless nine times out of ten.

HDMI doesnt work, component does...

So I got a free older 50" Plasma TV, it's decent looking, and it works great... with all its analogue inputs. Its single HDMI input however washes out all the colours and has a green tinge (across multiple devices and cables) My research suggests that this is a port problem and I really have no...

Do not play Chrono Trigger or FF4-6 on a Sony system, the load times before each encounter are unbearable. Really affected my initial impression of FF6 too, which i played on Vita THat said I would say the GBA version of FFV and 6 are worth grabbing, both are pretty definitive translations and of co...

Re: SQL UID Help

Yeah, an auto_increment field in MariaDB will automatically increment if handed a null or empty value, so you'd just modify code to not hand anything to that column

Re: SQL UID Help

auto increments require no user intervention; in T-SQL at least you'd just omit that column from your insert.

What actual RDBMS is this? Would be useful to assist more thoroughly
