How do you check for network bots?

With the large popularity of using DDOS attacks from networks bots (Lulzsec, anon) I have recently become suspicious if my computer has a network bot. Apparently though these things are really hard to find because scans like Windows Securities doesn't pick them up. Anyone have any tips on finding th...

Re: Problem with new build: No post DRAM LED RED ASUS P8H67

After looking around I think something really bad happened. Clamping down my core was very tight, this is my second time doing this and I can't remember if i had to press down that much. After taking out my core I noticed two depression marks from motherboard cramp. I had it in the right place, even...

Re: Memtest saying my chipset ram is DDR3 but it is not

Okay, I see. Thank you for your response. What would you suggest me to do to find out exactly if it's my motherboard or ram? I'm memtesting my ram because when I have all four ram sticks plugged in my computer experiences some problems; it will power up with fans running but never post and continue ...

Re: Memtest saying my chipset ram is DDR3 but it is not

Yea it is strange. I ran memtest all night while sleeping with all four of my rams plugged in. I got an error message which I'm not sure what it means.

Re: Memtest saying my chipset ram is DDR3 but it is not

I'm seriously considering just throwing out this PC. I built it in 2007 with $800.00 and it is going to come down as my worst purchase ever because since day one it has only given me problems. Its the most finicky thing I have ever had the displeasure of using.

Memtest saying my chipset ram is DDR3 but it is not

I'm running my ram through memtest trying to figure out what's up with my ram. When I plug my ram into the second row of yellow and red slots my chipset ram type comes up as DDR3 but it shows as DDR2 in the first two slots. How come this is? My GIGABYTE GA-P35 will not boot off a CD, please help

I'm about to take this motherboard out back... I'm trying to run my memtest disc (which I know works on other PCs) to solve an existing problem with the board. The thing is though it completley ignores my request for it to boot from the CD. I will restart my computer, jam on F12 when bios shows up, ...

Re: Which ram would best suit my computer?

hrm your mentioning how the ram must run at 800mhz for four channels might be my problem. With my overclocking settings I have my memory multiplier set to 2.00 (the guide i read suggested this) this keeps my ram under 800mhz in the bios settings. Should I change the multiplier up some more until I n...

Re: Which ram would best suit my computer?

They should , but we can't absolutely guarantee it will unless we have another gerbil with the same motherboard and RAM. Good news is that the lack of validation of RAM modules by the manufacturer is not necessarily any indication that the new modules won't work; especially considering how short th...

Which ram would best suit my computer?

I have had a lot of trouble with my current sticks of ram and I'm looking to get a new pair. I'm mainly looking for an affordable 2gig sticks from newegg. The reason I ask here is that newegg has so many kinds of ram sticks it makes my head spin, also some of the sticks seem very expensive compared ...

Re: How come my ram breaks my computer?

Oh whoops, I apologize for the mistake; I'm not the best at computers. I have 4x 1 gig sticks. Two sticks crash my computer as well. The test I do is to let Prime95 run for awhile. My computer is not overclocked. Is there an option in bios that i need to have enabled to run 4 sticks on my motherboard?

How come my ram breaks my computer?

Hoping someone can help me out here because I own 6gigs of ram and out of frustration I have only been using one of the sticks for the past three months. wow, thanks for all these great answers! I'm looking at the antecs now. I could get a Sonata Elite because I already have a power supply. Also there is the Antec 180 mini, I wonder if my large radeon 4850 will fit into that.

Does buying a "silent" case actually work

Got an easy question for you computer experts: Does buying a "silent" case actually work? Right now I have a Cooler Master Centurion 5, Zalman heatsink, Radeon 4850, and two loud WD harddrives. I don't really play much PC games (probably 2-3 games a year) and It's nice to have a decent com...
