Re: PCIe 4.0 ALMOST Ready

At this point I'm not sure if PCIe v4 could be useful during the foreseeable future. Although I supposed enough time has passed to update the standard... It'd be incredibly useful for Thunderbolt 3. TB3 currently mandates up to 4 x PCI-E 3.0 lanes per port. Keeping the 4 lanes but increasing their ...

Re: Need help in buying a tablet for my dad!

I realize this is out of your budget, but I'd get him the new 2017 iPad for $329 . Its been getting rave reviews and the price is actually quite good. iOS has a larger library of tablet optimized apps compared to Android and it has the whole 'it just works' factor going for it. Your other option, if...

If you're willing to go with bookshelves, you can get a decent setup for roughly $100. This was a popular combination a couple of years back when I first got serious about audio: Dayton Audio B652-AIR 6.5-inch Bookshelf Speakers - $59.80 + $7.95 shipping Lepai LP-2020A+ T-amp - $33.51 AmazonBasics 1...

Looking good so far. How is the 480 being on par with a 980 GTX "looking good?" Normally I wouldn't pay much attention to 3DMark, but AMD is sure to have paid attention to it because of it's popularity if nothing else. If matching a 980 is the best they can do it's not a good sign. Its go...

Does that 483 CDN$ include the cost of a Windows license? If not, than including one puts you way over your $499 maximum. You want to seriously consider either an AMD AM1 build, or a Dell or HP refurb and then add a graphics card to that.
