Well looks like Kyle is no longer at intel, he posted a thread that with his son fighting off leukemia he just couldn't move to cali and had to leave the company. He was asked if he had plans to open the [H] back up, he said he will have to see how things shake out.

Re: World Of Warcraft

I am looking forward to playing this again, going back to the more RPG and Less RNG WoW will at least be fun. Im not expecting to play it for the next 10 years but it will be something to do when taking a break from retail. Plus if this does well they will likely bring back TBC and wrath servers too...

Re: Retro Build

Well looking at the board manual, it may not support that 1.4Tul chip as the jumper setting don't seem to include it. Tul support was a very late thing to support and a lot of 370 boards don't. For the memory it just means that's the min you need to post, it supports both types. The 25A on the PSU i...

Re: New gaming build. It’s glorious!

That is a very nice rig, I finally am planning to upgrade my Ivy Bridge 3770k this year. Ive had this rig over 6 years now, and it is the longest I have ever kept a rig so far. The Ryzen 3k series has started calling me, and I am planning on a full upgrade when it comes out. I hope the R9 16/32 is t...

When I was going through all my old stuff, I found several old tubes. Looks like I have actic silver 2 and 3, some arctic alumina, along with some arctic silver and alumina epoxy. I'm sure most of the tubes are dried out by now, edging close to 25 years old on some of them.

Re: Time to finally take the Ryzen plunge?

The Ryzen 3000 Apu's are Ryzen+ on 12nm. The Ryzen 2000 Apu's are Ryzen on 14nm Amd said that Epyc (Rome) will be the first 7nm Ryzen 2, so Ryzen 3000 CPU will only be announced some time after that. rumour is CES will see Ryzen 3000 Apu, not CPU Yes, this is exactly what I was trying to explain ab...

The 3000 series ryzen will be based on ryzen 2 not ryzen plus. It will also be on TSMC 7 nm not glo flo 12, so it should be a massive improvement.

Re: Time to finally take the Ryzen plunge?

One thing to be careful with ASUS boards is last few generations they have been using both substandard cooling on their VRMS along with really poor VRMs. The first gen threadripper boards had such bad cooling they couldnt run the high core ones without the VRMs overheating and shutting down. They ha...

Re: Time to finally take the Ryzen plunge?

Well don't forget AMD will be announcing the 3000 series shortly, so you may want to hold off and see how much better the new ones are before you take the plunge. At the very least, it will drop the price on the 2000 series ones.

You may want to reconsider that Enermax Liqtech AIO, it has a ton of bad reviews mostly due to it clogging up and failing within 6 months or so. Many reviews mentioned going through multiple RMAs, and each replacement unit failing the same way. I would do some more research before dropping the cash...

The Advantage (from Bayer) spot and crevice flea spray I use says it also kills bedbugs. Well only things I can think of that wont toss a code, but still cause issues would be EGR valve, or idle air valve. One or both of those could be sticking in the wrong position, and both can cause drivability issues.

Re: Curved Screens General Impressions + How does it look with 3?

I’ve got a curved Samsung C32HG70 monitor. It’s not enough to be bothersome. You keep the edges and the center of the screen closer to the same distance from your eyes, which can be helpful for folks with presbyopia and its accessories. I have the same screen, I don't even notice the curve on it at...
