to be able to view 3d content you're going to need one those newfangled super expensive 3d tvs. for just non-3d blu-ray content though, your current tv is fine

Re: Words that should be common use in US English, but aren't

Wait, why do people keep posting the british version of words that the US already has?

Getting Americans to use "flat" instead of "apartment" or "petrol" instead of "gas/gasoline" is as futile a task as getting Americans to switch to the Metric system.

If you want something to play with along with playing music, another option would be Nintendo DSi(or DS lite with a flash cartridge) or Sony PSP.

Just throwing it out there.

Re: Nintendo announces big-screen DS

The DS, I agree. The PSP is by far the better handheld device. The Wii, I dunno, man. I really like the idea, and there are some really good games. You have to wade through a ton of crap to get to them, but if you do you will be rewarded. The PSP may have better hardware, but the DS has far more go...

Re: Handheld Gaming: Why I ditched my DS and PSP for iPhone

OK, maybe not anything, but a lot, and if homebrewers are willing, they could make the same apps for the DS. Here are 2 interesting recent articles on the growth and legitimacy of the iPod touch/iPhone as a gaming platform. Good reads. :) http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/23/iphone-beats-wii-ds-psp-fas...

Re: Handheld Gaming: Why I ditched my DS and PSP for iPhone

The interesting thing for me is that I originally never thought I'd use the iPhone for gaming. The iPhone is basically like carrying a small computer around with you, it does so much already. The fact that it can also serve as a gaming handheld is just icing on the cake. To me it makes no sense to ...

Re: Handheld Gaming: Why I ditched my DS and PSP for iPhone

iPhone games may be good as far as quality in gameplay and graphics, but how long do the games last before you beat them? I've played a lot of games on my DS that I put 10-20 hours into, and all 10-20 hours I enjoyed and got my money's worth.

I don't understand the hype or the backlash. People are arguing over how to best portray an imaginary being. Huh? If some movie company portrayed your favorite character/being in a movie/tv show in a way that didn't correspond with all the other instances of that character, you would probably be up...

Out of those I would recommend Disgaea 3. I've only played Disgaea DS (aka disgaea hour of darkness), but if the other games in the Disgaea series ar as good as or better than Disgaea DS then I would definitely recommend them or get them myself if I had the console[s] for them.

Re: Holden Commodore to be trialed for US Law enforcement

They don't need to have "like-on-rails" handling. 1. All roads in the US are mostly straight or at worst, gently curving. Any time there's a chase in a city the person being chased wrecks anyway. 2. The people being chased are usually driving a RWD sedan as well or anything else that's not...

Isn't the PS3 backwards compatible? Is there a cost for PSN or is it just pay for what you download? Only the first PS3s were backwards compatible with ps2, and ps1 games are downloaded (i think) If you were to buy a new one, it wouldn't be backwards compatible There is no cost to PSN, just pay for...
