Low GPU utilization on RTX 3080ti?

I recently picked up a Asus Tuf Gaming RTX 3080ti for MSRP (1200 finally haha) but sadly it has been underperforming big time. I upgraded to the 3080ti from a 1080ti and benchmarks online show that the 3080ti completely stomps on the 1080ti. Benchmarks show that the 3080ti gets up to more than doubl...

Re: How to replace a dying secondary drive?

Install new SSD. Use the free trial of Macrium Reflect to clone the old drive onto the new SSD. Use Windows Disk Management to re-size the partition to use all of the space on the new SSD. Remove the old drive. Re-assign the drive letter of the new drive to match the letter that the old one had. Do...

How to replace a dying secondary drive?

I have two NVMe's and a 7 year old 1T WD Black HDD and now that old HDD is making weird "scratching" sounds and "whining" sounds. The drive still works but I know for a fact that it's no longer healthy so I want to get rid of it. I mainly used it for old games, storage, and just ...

Re: Corsair K68 Cherry MX red keyboard

The keyboard works perfectly fine on my living room PC which is a windows 8.1 PC. I tested it on the USB 2.0 ports and the 3.0 ports and it works perfectly. The keyboard only doesn't work on my PC. Unless its plugged in to the USB 3.1 port. I doubt i'll ever solve this issue but my guess is that i'm...

What happens if you plug it in after Windows loads? Nothing. The LED lights light up but the keyboard wont work. The keyboard only works if its plugged in to the USB3.1 port. Do you guys think I should return it or keep it? It works perfectly fine if its plugged in to the USB3.1 port but it's a pot...

Re: Ryzen build for Windows 7

Hi. Maybe I can help you out a little :) I'm in a similar position. I have a "high end" gaming rig and i'm still rocking Windows 7. First off even if AMD doesn't support Windows 7 anymore that doesn't mean that Windows 7 won't work anymore. I have a i9 9900K @4.8ghz running perfectly on wi...

Corsair K68 Cherry MX red keyboard

Hi, a few days ago I purchased a Corsair K68 Cherry MX Red mechanical keyboard because my now 6 year old membrain K30 keyboard stopped working. The backspace and spacebar where very worn out already and would stay in the "pressed" position. Anyways this new keyboard is acting kinda weird a...

Windows 7 still getting updates?

Wasn't Windows 7 supposed to "die" on Jan 14 2020?

My windows 7 PC is still getting security updates just fine and it's feb 18 2020.

What's going on? Was Microsoft just bluffing?

Yeah i'm already on the latest bios. So aside from this it's literally just "plus and play"? its not like a GPU upgrade were I have to uninstall drivers then DDU then finally install new drivers and set things up? Windows will automatically detect the new cpu and the extra cores and threa...

Re: Upgrading to a 9900K

My question is will I need to reinstall windows if I upgrade the CPU? I've never done a cpu upgrade like this before. How do I uninstall the chipset drivers? Yes, you can update the CPU without needing to upgrade Windows or remove the chipset drivers. But your motherboard's BIOS version should be 2...

Hello, i'm in a unique situation atm. A friend of mine built a new ryzen system for editing and light gaming and he's selling all of the intel parts. He asked if I wanted the 9900K for 340 US dollars. However my situation is "unique" because I already own a 8700K on a asus maximus x hero b...

The installer should have both home and pro. You'll just have to specify which during the install. Windows 10 installers do the same thing. Also, that key should work if you want to jump to windows 10. Ah ok. I just going to ask this because the only options I have are Windows 8.1 N and Windows 8.1...

Is it possible to remove the heatsinks off this mobo? I heard that in some mobo's you can't remove them. Also, lets say that you can, can I apply some thermal paste on the VRM's like I would on a cpu? lol

Something greasy on my mobo?

Had my PC for over a year (feb2015) and the last hardware update was in June 2015 (980ti). Finally decided to stop being lazy and cleaned out all the dust that it had inside. Re: Preliminary results for Crucial BX200 degraded read spee

I never been a big fan of low tier SSD's. As far as I know the BX series is their lowest tier. I rather pay a lil more for the more decent quality one's like the MX one's that I own or in this case the MX200's that replace the 100's. Im guessing that when you buy the lowest tier ssd's things like th...

The funny thing is that it doesn't even seem to use up resources. I think running google chrome (like now) uses more lol. That's what make it even more weird to me. Usually when the normal maintenance starts at 2am or if I start it manually I can hear my cpu fan spinning up because it's working more...
