Re: Yoga-like laptops

SWMBO uses a Yoga 2 that she got used about a year ago. It wasn't too heavily used - it seems to have been a desktop replacement, because there were only like ten battery cycles even though it was used by its last owner for over a year. She's pretty hard on laptops and its not showing any signs of w...

Re: Bourbon?

Wild Turkey 101 is my go-to bourbon, but I've had everything else by Austin Nichols and like their other offerings just fine. The nicer ones (Rare Breed and Russell's Reserve) are barely any different to my taste so I don't think they're worth the premium, and I've been drinking 101 for so long that...

Re: New notebook in a few months

If you are not keeping to a low budget this time take a look at the Sony Flip. They are about a $1000 and are Intel based. I've been keeping my eye on sales for one. Seems the best mix right now of Laptop and Tablet. I have the laptops that fold to tablet with the keyboard still exposed on the bott...

Damn straight he should've thrown punches back. Punches do not belong on the football field. I agree, but punching back should be punished differently than surrounding a guy and punching him because you're a scumweasel. I'm not as convinced that punching back deserves an ejection even though it wou...

Re: Urban Meyer putting the low in low-class

They were suspended for the remainder of the game, for one thing. For another, they only threw punches back , which is a pretty key point. Did you watch the game, and see the eight enormous dudes surrounding the 180-lb freshman, the three of them that punched him, and the one that ripped off his hel...

It 'actually matters' $170 because that's how much Apple gouges you for beyond the retail price of that 16GB (plus the amount you could sell the 4GB for, I guess).

They don't add much for me, either. But it's not like they took as much work to implement as a AAA title. He's presenting a false dichotomy.

Wild Turkey 101, neat. The old standby, it's a shame I'm at the end of this bottle.

I can't think of a better bourbon for anywhere near the price.

Re: Tax Refund purchases

Sticking it in a CD could actually be a quite useful option. Then, the interest rates are better, you get the same "can't touch the money" factor, and you could get a 12 month CD, and cash it out at tax time. (Although, that requires having enough cash on hand to put a meaningful percenta...
