Re: What's causing this odd behavior?

Team Viewer has done this to me, if I remote in with a 1080p resolution it scales it, then when I come back home it sometimes does not scale it back to 1440p correctly.

As much as I sympathize with those who lost here I also can't help but wonder why they were using such poor management of their assets in the first place. I guess BTC transaction fees scare some off or a lack of knowledge. But either way. Again, do not trust your BTC (or any cyrpto) with a third-pa...

Bitcoin itself was not the issue. Most likely a security issue with nicehash allowed them to steal or bypass the private keys. Once news of this hits mainstream, it may hurt the price or not.

From the looks of it, a major bitcoin scam has happened. Inside job, theft of private keys, MT GOX all over? Their reddit is blowing up with info, last night nicehash went down for maintenance, but when they came back up, all their wallet money, and money they hold to payout weekly were wiped out (4...

Around $18/card/month, so close to $100 a month. I had 1, and bought 4 of them, a pcie ribbon, a HX1000i (using about 860 watts for the 3 card rig). Had all the other parts. I used bitcoins to buy it all, I used to mine 2-3 years ago with 2x bitcrane 1.1th miners and had a few coins built up. Newegg...

1080ti is now the best buy for the buck for hashing (some are still $699-720, I don't expect it to stay low for long). I use the basic Sonicare, not sure the model number but it's the big fat one. I keep meaning to upgrade but it's effort and I'm lazy; ...

I got the Zotac AMP edition 1080ti for $699, would recommend it over FE. +50core (2035mhz) +700memory (12,400 mt/s) The only complaint I have is related to my use of custom fan curves (afterburner). I am not a fan of this whole "keep fans off until 60c" which is fine just set a curve and y...

Well, as it happens, 5-10% IPC generational improvements over some four (five?) generations do add up. Agreed, except I went from a 5ghz haswell to this, and the gain was defiantly between haswell and the lake chips. I had 4.1ghz Bloomfield, 4.8ghz Sandybridge, 4.8ghz Ivybridge, and 2 haswell chips...

Even though it's not quite in overheat territory, that's still a bit warmer than it should be for stock clock on stock cooler.

I'm pretty confident that the memory jump gave me the most seat-of-the-pants gains, but I can attest that it was a real doubling of my low fps numbers (like MMOs in packed ares, BL2 with hea...

I honestly do not get why people don't understand this. Maybe a lack of understanding or knowledge I suppose, but it's time to listen. It's not your motherboard, it's not your power supply, it's not some microcode issue. Ryzen on that GF process is just not going to OC well no matter how many cores...

Re: computerbase.de Revisits Ryzen Gaming Performance

I still say wait for the r5 (4c/8t) for gaming performance. I would expect it to be able to rev to 4.5ghz to 5ghz. That will give you the gaming performance people are looking for. Unless we get a zen 1.1, or silicon revision, I would not expect any ghz headroom increase. I'd put money is on 4.1-4....

Re: Can anyone clear up - safest 3200MHz RAM approach?

The speed of the memory will not damage the chip, but voltage will.

Anything under 1.4v is considered the max safe for normal usage 24/7 on intel's DDR4 memory controller.

Re: Newfound Opinion: Ryzen is the second coming of K7

Ryzen reminds me more of how K10 (Phenom 1 x4) started, minus the TLB bug. Good chip if you need more cores, good IPC, true quad (vs intel's dual-core core2's at the time, you could get the $600-1000 pre-q6600 quads from intel), just not enough ghz.
